Since 2002, Dysart has enjoyed the support of its voters, first with the passage of a $74 million bond to create equity in every school. This bond was driven by the idea that every student in the district should have the same experience regardless of which school they attend. The idea that every school site should have the quality facilities that support the learning process was paramount for the community committee that recommended the bond election to the Governing Board.

This was followed by another successful election in 2006 for $190 million. Building off the work of the previous committee, a community committee recommended the need for this funding to address the following critical needs:  replacement of an existing school, funding for new school facilities, transportation vehicles, renovations to existing schools, and additional support facilities.

These bonds have truly changed the face of Dysart. Since November 2002, the district has worked to plan, design and implement as many projects as possible. With a commitment to efficiency, much of the work has been completed by a small group of individuals. Focused on completing projects on time and on budget, this team consisting of district staff, architects, and contractors has redefined what it means to attend school in our district.

Together, these funds have helped the district meet the critical capital needs of our students. Because the district understands the enormous trust our community has placed in us, accountability for the expenditure of these funds while not increasing the tax rate remains a top priority. The graph below illustrates the history of Dysart's tax rates.
