Dysart Unified School District has three schools that have been identified by the Arizona Department of Education (ADE) as being in School Improvement: El Mirage, Thompson Ranch and Riverview Elementary School. Identified schools become eligible for additional support from the district and state as they work to improve teaching and learning, attendance, graduation and participation in testing.
Parents of the children in these schools have the following options:
- Remain in the school and actively participate in the school improvement process.
- Seek enrollment at a School Choice
Parents of the children at El Mirage and Thompson Ranch also may request tutoring.
While all parents will have the opportunity to indicate whether they want their children transported to another school, there is no guarantee that all children will be able to attend the other schools unless the child is currently enrolled in a school of choice. Students who have low test scores and low income will have priority.

LEA's SES timeline and procedures for enrollment (application process) for parents:
Applications for Supplemental Educational Services are distributed to eligible students. If more students request tutoring than can be served through available funding priority will be given to low-performing students, as determined by the district. Applications can be submitted throughout the school year.
LEA’s procedures for helping parents make informed decisions about their options:
Dysart Unified School District will host a tutoring fair at the beginning of the school year. In addition, information will be distributed during parent/teacher conferences during the fall and spring semesters. Please call 623-876-7175 for more information.
