SUMMER LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

The Dysart Unified School District Summer School program is designed to keep students on track, and to provide opportunities for them to remediate their grades or advance the accumulation of their high school credits. Courses are available for K-12th graders, and will be offered in a variety of ways, including online through Dysart’s iSchool program, or in person on various campuses.

Summer School assists those students who need credits to graduate on time, seek to manage their high school schedule, remediate grades, or wish to graduate as soon as possible. Students from all Dysart schools are eligible to attend.

Summer School is offered online through iSchool and in person at various campuses. All classes are offered contingent upon sufficient enrollment and teacher availability. Summer School teachers are experts in their subject matter and skilled in working with high school students. Our staff is selected from our talented Dysart Unified School District teachers. Students are held to the same rigorous academic standards at Summer School as they are during the regular school year. Courses meet all the standards to fulfill the graduation requirements.

iSchool Summer School registration is now open for iSchool summer school. All finals will be taken in person at one of the four High School campuses by noon on Thursday, June 20, 2024.

The cost for summer school will be:

• $150 per 0.5 credit [one course]
• $75 per 0.5 [one course] for Free/Reduced Lunch and Employee Discount
• Payment must be paid in full to complete enrollment
• Payment may be made by card online [See Above] or by cash/check at one of the four high school bookstores.

Dysart iSchool Summer School will run April 22 through June 20, 2024. Students who choose to begin on April 22 could possibly complete 1.0 credit during Summer School if they sign up for two courses. Students who begin courses on the second start date of May 28, 2024 will only be able to complete one course for .5 credit.

All offered courses meet graduation requirements and are taught by certified teachers. While coursework is online, students will have access to in-person instructors for additional support, if needed. Students are required to take an in person final exam before noon on June 20 to complete the course.

Dysart iSchool Summer School is open to students from the four Dysart high schools. Current Dysart students that are interested can register with their school counselors, or may contact the iSchool office at [email protected] or 623.876.7295.

Current high school students have three summer school options that include credit recovery, catching up, or getting ahead.

Additional Information

• All finals must be taken in person and are proctored by iSchool Instructors. Finals need to be taken in the high school Student Commons at the end of the course and no later than June 20, 2024 by noon.

Time Commitment

• With a 0.5 credit course completed over two months, students should expect to spend approximately 10 hours per week. Students are required to be present to take the final in person.
• With a 1 credit course completed over two months, students should expect to spend approximately 20 hours per week. Students are required to be present to take the final in person.
• With a 0.5 credit course completed over one month, students should expect to spend approximately 20 hours per week. Students are required to be present to take the final in person.
