Dysart COVID Protocol Updates

Hello Dysart Parents and Guardians,

Last week you were notified that the Dysart Governing Board voted to maintain the face covering requirement through May 20, 2021. Beginning May 21, face coverings will be optional for students, staff and visitors. This includes summer school and in all district/school buildings and events. At this time, face coverings will continue to be optional when school starts next Fall. Dysart staff will continue to monitor active case counts in schools and will recommend changes if needed.

Additionally, in order to ensure students don’t miss valuable year-end content, Dysart is changing the quarantine protocol.  Beginning Monday, May 10, administrators will continue notifying parents/guardians if their child has direct contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID while at school/district events, but parents may decide to send their child to school or if their child should be quarantined. Parents may always choose to quarantine their children at any time, regardless if there has been direct contact or not. Parents of students who were placed in quarantine that extends beyond this date will be contacted and given the choice for their child to return on May 10th. Please note that anyone who tests positive for COVID must isolate, per CDC guidance. As we make this shift, Dysart will remain focused on keeping schools safe and healthy, and will continue monitoring cases.

Please remember there are many Summer School and Community Education activity opportunities for students this summer. Also, if you have a K-7 student that you want to enroll in full-time online classes for the 21-22 school year, please remember that you have until July 12 to submit a Request for Enrollment form at Dysart.org/K8online.

Dysart appreciates your partnership throughout this year as we have worked hard together to provide safe in person and online learning options for students. We look forward to finishing the last weeks of school strong! Thank you for a great year.
