Valley Student Wins State Culinary Arts Competition
Valley Vista Culinary Arts student Tyler WyliePhoto of Valley Vista High School Student Tyler Whiley. recently won first place at the Arizona Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) in the "Front of the House' Culinary Arts competition.  In addition, Wylie also won a $1,000 scholarship to Johnson & Wales University which focuses on culinary arts.

Additionally, Stephen Goodman won gold (and an invite to Nationals) in Job Interview competition.  Valley Vista High Schools had four participants in this year's event with all four placing in their respective competitions.

FCCLA is a dynamic and effective national student organization that helps young men and women become leaders and address important personal, family, work and societal issues through Family and Consumer Sciences education.  Dysart CTE programs like Culinary Arts utilize FCCLA to ensure opportunities for students to highlight their skills statewide and nationally.
