Role of the Health Office Staff

The Health  Office Staff collaborate with parents, guardians, primary care providers and school staff to provide confidential and prompt first aid.

Health Office staff responsibilities include:

  • First Aid and episodic care for students and staff
  • Hearing and vision screening
  • Immunization surveillance
  • Medication administration
  • Maintenance of health records
  • Promotion of safe, healthy and nurturing school environment

  • All activities of EMT/CMA/CNA 
  • Assistance with identification of students with health problems and special education needs
  • Health education for students, staff and parents/guardians

  • All activities of EMT/CMA/CNA/LPN
  • Assistance with education and nursing care management of students with health problems and special education needs
  • Serve as school liaison to home and community resources
  • Serve as a consultant for students, parents, and educational staff.

The Health Office staff are not  primary care providers and cannot make a medical diagnosis. Do not send ill students to school to be evaluated by the Health Office Staff.

If your child has been diagnosed with a chronic health condition, please notify the Health Assistant or School Nurse immediately.
