Meet the Principal 2019-2020

Message from the Principal

Dear Ashton Ranch Families,

I am so excited to be here with the teachers, staff, students, and families of Ashton Ranch! Dysart Unified School District has been my home for fourteen years, as I have served in various roles including teacher, academic interventionist, and assistant principal. I have often felt so fortunate over the years to have found this profession and believe that ensuring the best possible futures for our students is the most important and rewarding job we can do.

I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, where I graduated from the University of Washington. After moving to Arizona, I attended Arizona State University, and learned to live in the desert heat. I have three children who will all be in high school this upcoming year. We are proud members of the Surprise community and love exploring all of the beautiful sites our state has to offer.

As we move forward throughout the school year, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I can be contacted by email at [email protected], or by phone at 623-523-8302. I look forward to partnering with you, seeing our families at our school events and doing my best every day for our students.

Warm Regards,

Angela Allen

Message from the Dean of Students

Greetings, Mustang Families!

I am thrilled to be joining the staff at Ashton Ranch Elementary School, and am looking forward to meeting all of our families and students as the new year begins. My boys and I have been a part of the Dysart Unified School District family for sixteen years, and I have been a teacher in the district for eight of those! My time in the district has included a variety of teaching positions in both general education and special education, and I am passionate about meeting the needs of each individual learner, and their family, and working together to guide them towards success.

I am an Arizona native, and enjoy spending time with my family in the warm desert sun. I have four amazing boys who keep me on my toes, as they navigate the worlds of young adulthood, college freshman, high school sophomore, and fifth grader. I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Arts in Education, with dual certification in elementary and special eduction, and later continued my education as a Lumberjack to earn a Master's Degree in Educational Counseling. Most recently, I attended Grand Canyon University to achieve a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration.

I sincerely believe that each child's education is as strong as the team that is supporting them, and that each team is stronger when we are working together. Please contact me with any questions, concerns, or ideas you may have. My email is [email protected], or you can call 623-523-8305. I look forward to working together to ensure your student's growth and success!
