8th grade Promotion Drive Thru Ceremony May 19th from 6-7 PM
8th Graders: You are cordially invited to the first (and only) 8th Grade Promotion Drive-Thru Ceremony

  • Location: Surprise Elementary School
  • Date: Tuesday, May 19th
  • Time:  Between 6-7 pm

Hello, Surprise 8th Graders!

First, we would like to say thank you so much for all the hard work you put into this school year. These last few months have been a challenge, but you persevered and now it’s time to send you off to high school! All of your teachers, past and present, your principals, and your support staff here at Surprise are extremely proud of you.
Unfortunately, due to our current circumstances, we are not able to have an in-person promotion event. However, we still want to be able to celebrate you and what you have accomplished as we say our goodbyes.  We will do this by holding an 8th Grade Promotion Drive-Thru Ceremony, sharing a video montage, as well as a Flipgrid presentation for you!

The Promotion Parade will take place Tuesday, May 19th, between 6-7 pm. ALL 8th grade families are invited to participate in a Drive-Thru ceremony in our front student drop-off lane. However, we still must maintain social distance guidelines so we are providing the instructions below for you to follow as you participate in our ceremony.

Please read the instructions below carefully.

  • First, please note that walk-ups will not be permitted. Students and guardians must be in a vehicle in the student drop-off lane in front of the school.
  • Vehicles should enter the parent pickup line from the Dysart Rd entry point to avoid traffic issues. Cars will enter the pickup lane where teachers and staff will be there to greet you. You will give your name to the teacher or staff person. You will be handed your promotion packet which will include your promotion certificate, a promotion program, as well as any other certificates you may have earned.
  • When you are given the go-ahead, you may pull forward to have a drive-up photo taken which will be emailed to you.

We are so excited to get to see you one more time before high school! We will make this a day to remember, we promise.
