WCHS Girls Cross Country
Cross Country Team 2018It was a great finish to a tremendous season of growth for Wildcats Cross Country.  Competing under Coaches Tamez, Ortega, McGinnis, and Luna, a young group of runners that included the Fab-Four Freshmen Tyler Hernandez, Bryce Hanson, Anthony Wheatley and Chaz Miller, all are in the school record books within the top 20 all-time in 5K.  The team doubled in sizes this year and was lead by a couple multi sport athletes, sophomore John Grant and Senior team leader KJ Patrick.

The girls enjoyed a season of growth as well, including the budding star runner Olivia De La Torre, Freshmen Alyssa Robichaud, and a crop of young talented runners!

The highlight of the day, during the Sectional meet, a qualifying event for the State Championship, Chaz Miller broke the school record with a 5K time of 16:49, and he is the first runner to qualify for the state  since 2009.

No doubt the future is bright for these group of runners!  Congrats to the coaches and all the athletes that have worked hard this year!!
