Chromebook Distribution Day
Chromebook distribution days are designated by the first letter of your child's last name. Here is the schedule:

First Letter of Last Name:A-L
Date: Tuesday, July 28th
Time: 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

First Letter of Last Name: M-Z
Date: Wednesday, July 29th
Time: 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.


Here are some important details to know:
  • A $25 non-refundable fee will be assessed to your student’s account upon receipt of the device.  Payment is due no later than one week after check out.    
  • When you arrive on campus, please go to the outside cafeteria doors.  A mask is required to be worn upon entering the cafeteria and social distancing must be followed.
  • If a parent has multiple FTA enrolled students, they will be able to pick up all chromebooks at the same time.  
  • If your FTA enrolled child has enrolled in iSchool and needs a device, they will checkout a Chromebook from our school. 
  • When remote learning concludes and school can resume in person per Governor's orders, your child will need to bring the checked out chromebook to school every day.  Please know that all devices checked out will be turned in at the end of the school year.  However, your child will be allowed to leave it at school to be safely stored if you would like.

FTA Meet the Teacher Night 2020
Meet the Teacher Night 

This year, our Meet the Teacher night will look a little different.  On Wednesday, July 29, your child's teacher will send out an email introducing him or herself to you. In this email, there will be a video of your child's teacher talking about how instruction will be delivered during remote learning and in person, safety protocols in place when in person school resumes, grading policies, and many more important details.  This email will also contain a link for you to sign up for a 10 minute slot of time to conference with your teacher on Friday, July 31.  You will have the option of the teacher calling you or virtually meeting with you using Google Meets or Zoom.   Families will receive 2 volunteer hours when they conference with their child's teacher.  Please note that 2 hours will only be given to families once - even if there are multiple children.

Dysart Career and College Expo
The Career and College Expo is Coming October 24th! 

Plan and explore your student’s future at the Dysart Unified School District Career and College Expo on Thursday, October 24, 2019 from 5:30-8pm at the Dysart District Office, located at 15802 N. Parkview Place in Surprise. 

The expo will feature Dysart's Career and Technical Education programs, local colleges, businesses, and West-MEC. This is a great opportunity for 6th through 12th grade students and their parents to get hands-on with all of the career pathway classes and programs offered through the district. This is a free event and all are invited to attend.

Power Restored
Safety UpdateUPDATE: 9:38AM Power has now been restored.  All schools will resume as normal. 





A power outage in the region has affected Freedom Traditional Academy, Ashton Ranch Elementary School, Countryside Elementary School, and the District Office.  We are working with the power company to assess what happened and a timeline.  Please check the district website and social media for the most up to date information.  An update will be posted by 9:45am.

Complete Your Annual Student Update Online.

Each year, school districts are required to verify student information. We are excited to announce that we now have an online version of our Annual Student Update available on the ParentPortal.  

To ensure that we can communicate with families regarding their student, or in the case of an emergency, it is essential we have accurate and up-to-date contact information. The new online form allows you to confirm or update your contact information, address, student health and emergency contact information and preferences.

Additionally, the Annual Student Update allows parents to identify if they are in the military. Knowing where our military families attend school will assist the Dysart Unified School District in applying for Federal Impact Aid funding.

A Parent Portal account is needed to complete the Annual Student Update. In addition to being able to complete the Annual Student Update online, the Parent Portal can be a great tool for parents to stay informed 24/7 about their child’s academic progress. Grades, attendance, assignments, and more are viewable in real time online or via the app. Parents with multiple students in the district have a single login to access information for all of their children in one place. The Campus Parent app is available on iTunes, Google Play, and Amazon. If you don’t already have an account, you may sign up for one at ParentPortal.

Important Safety Reminders from the Superintendent
Dysart SafeDysart Parents and Guardians,

As we near the end of the school year, I am writing to ask you to partner with us to keep our Dysart students and campuses safe and secure. Historically, as students eagerly anticipate the approach of summer, the number of school threats increases. Dysart is hoping to stem this issue with your help.

As a fellow community member, I ask you to please:

1. Have a discussion with your child(ren) about the importance of immediately sharing information that could be considered threatening to our community with a responsible adult. This could be a parent, teacher or school staff member.
2. Make it clear to your child(ren) that online threats and rumors should not be forwarded or shared, because doing so impedes police investigations.
3. Discuss with your child(ren) the seriousness of making threats toward schools, and remind them that there are a number of charges that can be filed against students – including felony offenses.

If you become aware of an immediate threat, please call 911.  Otherwise, call law enforcement non-emergency lines to report potential threats towards our schools or the community in Surprise (623-222-4000), El Mirage (623-933-1341) or Maricopa County (602-876-1602).

Another option for reporting school safety issues or concerns is through our Safe Schools Hotline (623-876-7009) or online via Dysart Safe Report at Dysart.org/SafeReport. Additional information, resources, and school safety tips can be found on our website at Dysart.org/Safety.

Dysart is proud of our relationships with local law enforcement agencies, and works collaboratively with them to ensure the safety of our students and staff.  We all have a responsibility to be vigilant and should strive to prioritize the well-being of our community.
