ESS Delivery of Instruction/Services 2020-2021

All Dysart students, including our Preschoolers, will begin remote learning on August 4, 2020, until we are able to resume school in person.

Dysart Unified School District will continue to implement and deliver services as outlined in each student’s IEP in a manner that promotes social distancing, safety, and wellness of both student and staff, and in the consideration of each student’s unique learning style and needs. 

The following options are available for consideration for students who receive special education services on an IEP:

 

Resource Services

Remote Learning (During Initial School Opening Period or Emergency School Closure)

  • Students will continue to receive instruction from their classroom teachers
  • Students will be required to log on at a certain time to receive their Specially Designed Instruction.
  • Students will be provided an assigned device and will participate with the special education teacher via remote learning platform
  • This option is NOT available once in-person classes begin


In-Person 5 Days a Week

  • Students will continue to receive their instruction and services as in normal operations

iSchool (Full-time Online) *If IEP team agrees a FAPE can be met in this modality
  • Computer-based learning with some check-ins with general education teacher 
  • Students will be required to log on at a certain time to receive their Specially Designed Instruction and Related Services
  • Students will be provided an assigned device and will participate with the special education teacher for services and progress monitoring only, via remote learning platform
 

Specialized Programs (K-12)
Structured Teaching Classrooms (STC), Positive Behavior Support Classrooms (PBS) , Assisting Student Participation in Relevant Education (ASPIRE)

  • Students will be provided an assigned device and will participate with the special education teacher via remote learning platform 
  • Students will be required to log on at a certain time to receive their Specially Designed Instruction and Related Services from their providers
  • This option is NOT available once in-person classes begin


In-Person 5 Days a Week

  • Students will continue to receive their instruction and services as in normal operations (fully in-person)

iSchool (Full-time Online) *If IEP team agrees a FAPE can be met in this modality
  • Computer-based learning with some check-ins with general education teacher 
  • Students will be required to log on at a certain time to receive their Specially Designed Instruction and Related Services
  • Students will be provided an assigned device and will participate with the special education teacher for services and progress monitoring only, via remote learning platform
 

Preschool

Remote Learning (During Initial School Opening Period or Emergency School Closure) This option will remain in place only until Kindergartners return to In-person learning

  • Students will be provided weekly work packets with activities that can be completed at home - aligned to our curriculum theme.
  • Special education teacher/RS providers will provide services based on student IEP goals and needs in a distance learning platform 
  • Preschool Teachers and Related Service providers will work with families to develop a schedule for students  to receive Specially Designed Instruction
    • Individual conversations with families centered around student need/ and ability to participate in a virtual format will guide the schedule and the plan for each student
  • This option is NOT available once in-person classes begin for kindergarten

In-Person 5-days a week (Beginning Aug 31st)
  • Students will continue to receive their instruction and services as they were in normal operations and will attend program 5 days per week 
  • Enhanced safety protocols will be followed in accordance to CDC and DHS guidance
 

Related Services

Occupational Therapy (OT), Physical Therapy (PT), Speech

Remote Learning (During Initial School Opening Period or Emergency School Closure)

  • Student will be provided an assigned device and will participate with their service provider via remote learning platform at specified days and times
  • This option is NOT available once in-person classes begin


In-Person 5 days a week

  • Students will continue to receive their instruction and services as they were in normal operations (in-person)


iSchool (Full-time Online) *If IEP team agrees a FAPE can be met in this modality

  • Student will be provided an assigned device and will participate with their service provider via remote learning platform at specified days and times
