This week, your child’s teachers will be reviewing our Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports Matrix.  The matrix outlines schoolwide expectations for different areas on campus.  It’s very helpful to have common language so that the expectations are clear.

Below you will find a few questions you can ask your child after school each day and a few ideas for home!
  • Tuesday - Did your teacher talk about what it means to be safe at Marley Park?  What can you tell me about being safe in the cafeteria?
  • Wednesday - Today your teacher talked to you about targeting success.  What a great thing to focus on while at school.  How can you target success in your classroom?
  • Thursday - Wow you learned about Acting with Integrity today!  What does Integrity mean and how can you act with integrity everywhere you go?
  • Friday - The first week of school is all done!  What did you learn about being respectful and responsible at recess today?

You can also use the matrix below at home and customize it to meet the needs of your family.  The locations along the top of the matrix can be changed, below you will find some examples.  You can also consider changing the STAR expectations in the first column.  Consistent language with positive reinforcement and setting clear expectations is so important as we work together to build excellence for ALL!
