A Message From the Principal

Principal Longoria

Dear Parents and Students,

We are excited to begin the 2019-2020 school year.  I am honored to serve as your new principal and look forward to working with you to ensure your students are receiving an outstanding education. Teachers and staff have been working diligently this summer, attending professional development which includes but is not limited to: teaching reading effectively, gifted training, and PBIS. They have practiced Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw to feel rejuvenated and ready for the school year.  As we get closer to Tuesday, August 6, 2019, our first day of school, we want to take a few moments to acquaint you with some important dates and new procedures.

At Dysart Elementary, we are dedicated to teaching the whole child, and preparing for life beyond the classroom. Dysart Elementary will be implementing the Leader in Me framework this year, in addition to instilling Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People as a part of the foundation of our school. You will receive more information about this from your child’s teacher throughout the school year.

Please note that all drop off and pick up, with the exception of Pre-K, should occur in the front of the school.  We highly recommend that all parents with K-3 students use the lane closest to the school. All parents with students in grades 4-8 should use the lane closest to the parking lot. All preschool parents, please park in the south lot (by the gym) and walk your student to class. This ensures that traffic continues to flow smoothly during drop off and pick up.

For the safety of all students, should your child need to be picked up from school early, you must arrive prior to 3:30 PM to do so. After 3:30 PM, students will not be released until our dismissal time, 3:45 PM. Any change in transportation for the day should be communicated to the office no later than 3:30 PM.  Please note, Monday, August 12 -- Monday early release at 1:45 p.m. begins

Information can also be found on the Dysart web page, including the dates listed above as well as information regarding suggested supply lists.  This information will be posted under the tab, “Announcements”. It is important that we have up-to-date contact information.  Please take a moment to log into your Parent Portal account to update your Parent Contact Preferences if necessary. Instructions for updating your Parent Contact Preferences option can be found at Parent Portal and clicking “Parent Instructions”.  If you do not have a Parent Portal account, follow the directions on the site to create one.

We look forward to working with each of you for an extraordinary year at Dysart Elementary.  It is an honor to serve both you and your child. Extraordinary Eagles Light the Way!

Sincerely,

Ashley Longoria, Principal
