Meet the Administration

Jessica Felix, Principal and Kara Sehr, Assistant Principal have been the Administrative Team at Marley Park since 2019.  Both Mrs. Felix and Mrs. Sehr have a passion for educating and developing the children at Marley Park. They strive to build excellence for all through Academics, Athletics and the Arts.  At the start of each school day, Mrs. Felix and Mrs. Sehr love to welcome students to campus and waving to families.  You can usually find Mrs. Felix and Mrs. Sehr spending time in classrooms watching the Mavericks tackle new concepts and master new skills.  They also spend time in the Cafeteria and at Recess where Marley Park students build lasting relationships with peers and staff.  After school, they work together with families and teachers to support one another, cheer on the Maverick sports teams or watch a fine art performance.  Mrs. Felix and Mrs. Sehr truly believe in each and every student at Marley Park and love to celebrate them!  Whether it's through a positive call home, sending postcards home to students, giving high-fives and a friendly smile, or celebrations like the 8th Grade Color Run pictured below - our Mavericks are amazing and we celebrate them!

Maverick Families~

Welcome back, we are excited for the upcoming school year! It is going to be an amazing 2021-2022 year.  As we embark on a new school year, I am looking forward to meeting each and every new family this year as well as re-connecting with our current families.  Our teachers and staff are ready to welcome families back, and to celebrate all the fantastic things that will happen at Marley Park this year!

As I begin the year as the Principal of Marley Park, I am grateful to be a part of the Marley Park community.  This will be my 16th year in education, where I have served as a 3rd and 4th grade teacher, Instructional Coach and Assistant Principal.  It will be my fourth year in the Dysart Unified School District.

I am an Arizona native and was born and raised in Sedona, Arizona.  After graduating from Northern Arizona University with my bachelors in Elementary Education, I moved to the valley of the sun for job opportunities.  I then obtained my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Principal Certificate from Northern Arizona University. My husband and I have lived in Surprise for the past 15 years and love spending time with our two boys, attending sporting events, hiking and swimming.

I am looking forward to all the great things that will be happening at Marley Park this year! We are working hard to build EXCELLENCE for ALL at Marley Park!

Dear Marley Park Families,

I am extremely excited to be able to continue to serve as your Assistant Principal.  The students, staff, parents and community at Marley Park are incredible and I look forward to working alongside each and every one of you as we continue to grow and learn.

This is my third year with the Dysart Unified School District.  During my career, I have served as a Kindergarten and 7th Grade Math Teacher, Math Interventionist, Instructional Coach and Assistant Principal.  I am fortunate to be a part of Marley Park’s talented team.

I was born and raised in Michigan.  I attended Western Michigan University and moved to Arizona a week after I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.  I obtained a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Principal Certificate from Northern Arizona University. My husband and I live in Surprise with our daughter, son and three golden retrievers.  We enjoy the outdoors and spend our winters hiking the White Tank Mountains and playing at the parks and our summers swimming and playing family games.

I look forward to serving this amazing community and building excellence along the way - this year is going to be extraordinary!
