One Additional Chromebook Distribution Day
Hello, Mountain View families,

In an attempt to accommodate parents? who were unable to come to our previous two chromebook distribution days, MVS is offering one additional day to sign out a chromebook.
Parents can come to the iExplore doors tomorrow, Thursday, July 30th, between 8am and 2pm to sign out a Chromebook. Parents may be asked to wait outside until a staff member can let them in due to staffing and space constraints.

As a reminder, once parents sign out a chromebook, a $25 Optional Protection Plan fee will be assessed to the student's account. Parents can pay the fee on the Payment Portal by going to, selecting Parents, and then selecting Contributions/Payments and following the directions on that page to log in. If the fee is not paid within 5 business days, the protection plan will be declined and the fee removed.

Teachers returned to campus today and are working to get all of the information you will need for the start of school together. Teachers will be communicating electronically with all parents by the end of the week.

Please continue to check for the most up-to-date information regarding meal services, learning labs, and remote learning.

Meet the Teacher & Chromebook Distributions
Hello, Mountain View families!

We wanted to share important information with you regarding Chromebook distribution and Meet the Teacher.

Chromebook Distribution

Dates: Thursday, July 23 and Monday, July 27

Times: 7:00-10:00am and 1:00-4:00pm on both dates

Chromebooks will be distributed from the iExplore classroom.  Parents/guardians are required to sign the agreement forms - we are unable to distribute computers directly to students and are unable to distribute devices to non-guardian adults.  Please follow the signs that will be posted, as we will be following social distancing guidelines.

Once you have signed out the device, the office will be applying a $25 Protection Plan fee to your student's account.  The protection plan coverage includes accidental damage caused by liquid, spills, drops, or other unintentional events; loss of device due to theft (accompanied by a valid police report), damage caused by fire (accompanied by official fire report from investigating authority); damage caused due to an electrical surge; and loss or damage caused by natural disasters.  One claim can be made during the school year.

Parents can pay the $25 fee by logging into the District's Payment Portal and following the instructions to log in.  Non-payment of the fee within five business days will result in the protection plan being declined for that student and the fee will be removed from the account.

The District has made various resources available for parents:

Chromebook Device Procedures and Support

How to Connect Your Chromebook to WiFi

How Parents can access Schoology

Meet the Teacher Virtual Events

Due to current health guidelines, all meet the teacher events will be virtual.

MVS teachers will  be sending out their virtual presentation electronically by Friday, July 31st.  Teachers will be posting their presentations on their teacher websites, and links will be made available on the MVS website.  Parents who wish to schedule an individual conference call with their child's teacher will be able to do so.

Important Info for Returning to School
Hello Mountain View families,

We hope you all have been happy and healthy this summer. We wanted to ensure that every family has important information that you will need prior to the first day of school.

1. Teacher letters have been sent out within the past week to all students currently enrolled for the 20/21 school year. Parents, please note that the office is unable to make changes to class rosters at this time, however changes may be made to rosters and class assignments depending on the results of the parent class format preference survey.

2. The District is asking all parents to select their class format preferences for the 2020-2021 school year for each student by Wednesday, July 15, so that the district can appropriately plan for staffing needs. As a reminder, all students will begin the year with remote learning on Tuesday, August 4 and families that select either the Full-time classroom or split-time hybrid option will transition to campus when it is allowable. Parents will need to log into their parent portal account to make the selection.

If you are unable to access your parent portal, you can call the school office at 623-876-7450 and the office staff can enter your preference over the phone.

3. The kindergarten screening that had been scheduled for July 20th has now been canceled.

4. All meet the teacher events will be held virtually. Your child's homeroom teacher will be sending a welcome email and providing a virtual presentation. Parents who wish to have an individual follow-up meeting with the teacher will be able to schedule that with the homeroom teacher.

5. MVS will be distributing Chromebooks on Thursday, July 23rd, and Monday, July 27th, from 7am-10am and from 1pm-4pm on each day. Parents do not need to make an appointment, but social distancing guidelines will be followed
and masks will be required to enter the cafeteria. More information will be provided next week. Look for an autodialer and information on our facebook and web page.

6. We encourage all parents to review the District's Back To School Frequently Asked Questions page to find answers to many of the most common questions regarding the 20/21 school year.

Back to School 2020-2021
Hello, Mountain View Families.

We hope you all have been enjoying a safe and healthy summer.  We know many of you have questions about what the new school year will look like.

We would like to ask that all parents review the information regarding class format options found on the District's Back to School 2020-2021 web page.  Once you have reviewed this page, parents will need to log into the parent portal between Wednesday, July 8th, and Wednesday, July 15th, to indicate your class format preference for each of your students.

Families that select to attend an in-person option will begin with remote learning on August 4 and will transition to campus when it is allowable.

At this time, we are canceling the Kindergarten screening that was previously scheduled for Monday, July 20th.  Teachers will be modifying screening processes to accommodate remote learning at the start of the school year.

And finally, all Meet the Teacher events will now be virtual. Stay tuned for additional information later in July.
