Meet the Principal

Principal Gail Miller
Message from the Principal
Dear Mountain View Families,

I am extremely excited to introduce myself as the Principal at Mountain View  School. I began my educational journey twenty-one years ago in Deer Valley Unified School District as a classroom teacher.  Then I decided to embark on a rapidly growing district that was searching for high quality educators and leaders.   Thus, the last fourteen years I have worked as a teacher, instructional coach, reading coach, and administrator for the Dysart Unified School District. I also have been an active leader in the district's K-3 Reading initiative, the district's Assessment model and the Professional Development Committee by facilitating numerous professional development opportunities for teachers and administrators.
Here are just a few things about myself.  I am originally from upstate New York and have lived in Arizona since 1988.  My husband and I have two wonderful children that graduated from Dysart Unified School District.  In addition to being a Mountain View Mountain Lion, I am also an Antelope from Grand Canyon University, an Arizona State Sun Devil, and a Lumberjack from Northern Arizona State where I received my Bachelor Degree and two Masters Degrees.
I believe that each child deserves the very best education and should be future ready.  Thus, I am committed in working collaboratively together to ensure a safe learning environment and continue to build a culture of excellence.
I look forward to working with the families and students of Mountain View School.  We are going to have a successful school year!

Mrs. Miller

Message from the Assistant Principal

Assistant Principal Amy Miles
Hello, Mountain Lions! I am Amy Miles and truly thrilled to introduce myself to you as the Assistant Principal at Mountain View School! I am passionate and dedicated to ensure that each scholar reaches their academic and personal potential. I believe this starts with a strong partnership through the positive relationships between families, teachers/staff, and students.

I look forward to meeting the families and scholars here at Mountain View and would like to share a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in San Diego, California. I graduated from San Diego State University where I earned my Bachelor Degree and two Masters Degrees, one in which focused on Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Technology.  My educational journey began as an elementary teacher in San Diego; to a high school Reading Specialist, a middle school Science and English/Language Arts teacher, an educational consultant and trainer, and returning to elementary education. Also, I enjoyed sharing my love for soccer when I was a high school and middle school coach. This journey and leadership experience has strengthened my passion in building a community in and out of the classroom and supporting students as scholars as well as individuals.

My husband and I decided to move to Arizona so that we could be near my large family of five siblings and thirteen nieces and nephews, many of whom attend schools in Dysart. It was while presenting on Restorative Practices for the district that I met the fabulous educators and leaders in this district. So, after my husband and I (with our three dogs) moved from California to Arizona, I knew Dysart was going to be my new home in education. I am proud to be your Assistant Principal and serve the scholars of this beautiful community.
