S.T.R.I.D.E.
S.T.R.I.D.E. stands for Stallion Time to Remediate, Intervene, Develop, and Enrich. The purpose of this class is to provide intervention and enrichment for students as well as a check in period during the week to help keep them on track with their classes and connected to the school.

Saturday Academy for Students
Shadow Ridge High School is offering "Saturday Academy" for students needing tutoring in English, Math, Science, and Social Studies.

When: 
  • November 6, November 20, December 4, and December 11.

Time: 
  • 8am - 11am (students do NOT need to stay the entire time, however, students will NOT be admitted after 10am)

Where: 
  • Shadow Ridge High School, Student Commons (5000 building)

Purpose: 
  • Before or after school tutoring can be difficult for students to attend.  "Saturday Academy" offers students an additional time to receive help understanding concepts in a subject area, completing assignments, or preparing for a test.

Important Things to Know:
  • The content area teacher may not be your student's classroom teacher.  This means the Saturday teacher may not have the ability to open your student's gradebook to access missing assignments or administer tests.
  • No transportation and no meals will be provided.
  • Appointments/reservations are NOT needed.  If your student attends, you will receive an email confirming their attendance.

AZ College Consortium offering 2 Virtual Fairs on 9/16 & 11/22
The Arizona College Consortium will be offering 2 Virtual Fairs this Fall.  These will be a great opportunity for students to connect with colleges and other post-secondary institutions in and around the state.

When: 
  • Tuesday, September 16, 2021 from 2pm-3:30pm
  • Monday, November 22, 2021 from 1pm-2:30pm

These events will be conducted through Zoom.  All attendees will start in a general Zoom meeting room for a brief intro, then breakout rooms will open for presentations.  Each breakout room will consist of 5 similar schools (Community Colleges, Private Universities, Technical Schools, etc.)

Registration is open for September 16, available on the ACC website.

Meet the Teacher Night, 8/17/21 5pm-6:30pm
Meet the Teacher flyer

Come to Shadow Ridge High School on August 17, 2021 from 5pm-6:30pm.

QR codes will be located on every teacher's classroom door in order for anyone to scan the code with their phone to collect information about the teacher and the class course.

Feel free to drop in and tour anywhere on campus during the 90 minute time frame.  Please click on the Interactive map of our campus.

Attractions:  Free water stations, Dysart Food Truck with fee samples, $1 tacos from Mr. Mesquite, Kona Ice, Games in the Courtyard, Artwork display, Military, StuCo, NHS, Band, Choir, Cheer, Athletics, Counselors, Yearbook.

Counselors will be in the small gym, Athletics and Boosters will be in the students commons, and our Stable and Bookstore will be open.

Road Closures

Late this afternoon, City of Surprise notified Shadow Ridge of the closure of Cactus Road between 175th and Cotton Ln due to unsafe road conditions.  The only access to Cactus Road at this time is from Citrus Road. It has not yet been determined if the road would still need to be closed tomorrow.  Please plan accordingly, allowing extra travel time on your way to school tomorrow.
