Flyer Distribution

According to Dysart District policies, "Non-school-originated material of a commercial or political nature shall not be released through the students." To comply with this policy, the district has established guidelines and an approval process through the Public Relations office.

The only flyers that will be passed out in class and sent home with students are those which originate from the Dysart Unified School District or are directly related to the district, such as the Community Education Department or the Dysart Education Foundation.

Nonprofit, youth-centered organizations wishing to provide information to students must submit the flyer to the Public Relations Department for approval. If approved, flyers from nonprofit organizations will be made available in school front offices for up to one month. Organizations will be permitted to display no more than 100 flyers.

Policy also stipulates: "No advertising or materials used for propaganda purposes shall be permitted in school buildings or on school grounds or properties. Solicitation of advertising or use of the school system to promote the merit of any product by brand name or trademark shall not be permitted by the Board." In general, commercial solicitations for staff members, such as those from book companies, mortgage bankers or financial service organizations, will not be approved. Sales presentations for staff will be approved only if space is rented through a Use of Facilities Request.
