School Procedures

End of the Day Sign-Out Time Limit

We ask that students NOT be signed out within the last 20 minutes of the school day (after 2:40 p.m. on Tuesdays - Fridays, or 12:4 0 p.m. on Mondays).  During this time, students are getting packed up and heading out of their classrooms, so it becomes difficult to call students down to the office. We ask that if you have a doctor's appointment or other reason for signing out a student early, you come before 2:40 p.m. (or 12:40 p.m. on Mondays).

Ashton Ranch Arrival/Dismissal Procedures

Ashton Ranch prides itself on being a true community school. We have approximately 600 students who will walk, ride bikes, or be dropped off each day.  With that in mind, we have established specific morning and afternoon routines for our busy arrival and dismissal times.

Student safety continues to be a priority, and in an effort to plan for the most effective supervision of our students, we ask that all parents and students follow our drop-off and pick-up procedures. Our school start time is 8:15 a.m. and breakfast is served every morning until 8:05 a.m.  The Garden Gate, located at the North end of our front parking lot, will open daily at 7:45 a.m. for students eating breakfast in the Cafe. All other gates will open at 7:55 a.m. to let students onto campus. Students will be permitted into their classrooms at 7:10 a.m.
Please remember, students are not permitted to arrive at school prior to 7:55 a.m., as we do not have supervision available.  If prior arrangements have been made with a staff member, students are to check in the front office to wait for the teacher.  Our school end time is 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday through Friday, and  Monday & early release dismissal is at 1:00 p.m.

Arrival Procedures

Student Drop Off: Students will enter through the Parent Pick Up/Drop Off gate, located on the South side of the campus.  When exiting a vehicle, all students must exit on the passenger side of the vehicle.  Drivers are to remain in the vehicle at all times.  Remember, bikes, scooters and skateboards are to be walked at all times on school grounds. Students are to walk to secure their bikes, scooter and skateboards in the bike rack. The school is not responsible for stolen property. All students who walk or ride bikes, scooters and or skateboards may enter in two locations: the back field or South Gate.
Dismissal Procedures

All students must be picked up by 3:00 p.m. (1:00 p.m. on Mondays and other early release days).  There is no supervision after this time.

Student Pickup:  Students will use the South Gate, to be picked up by car. Students will remain in the area supervised by teachers until their ride is moved to the appropriate area. With that we ask cars pull all the way forward, load your student(s) and leave the loading lane promptly, to allow other cars to load in a timely manner. We ask that parents only stop in the right hand lane, and leave the left lane for drive-through only.
Walkers and Bike/Scooter Riders : Students will exit through the back field or the South Gate. Students will need to utilize the crosswalks and bike lanes in the front and back of the school.
