School Procedures

NEW End of the Day Sign-Out Time Limit

We ask that students NOT be signed out within the last 20 minutes of the school day (after 2:40 p.m. on Tuesdays - Fridays, or 12:4 0 p.m. on Mondays).  During this time, students are getting packed up and heading out of their classrooms, so it becomes difficult to call students down to the office. We ask that if you have a doctor's appointment or other reason for signing out a student early, you come before 2:40 p.m. (or 12:40 p.m. on Mondays).

NEW Ashton Ranch Arrival/Dismissal Procedures for the 2019-2020 School Year

Ashton Ranch prides itself on being a true community school. We have approximately 600 students who will walk, ride bikes, or be dropped off each day.  With that in mind, we have established specific morning and afternoon routines for our busy arrival and dismissal times.

Student safety continues to be a priority, and in an effort to plan for the most effective supervision of our students, we ask that all parents and students follow our drop-off and pick-up procedures. Our school start time is 8:15 a.m. and breakfast is served every morning until 8:05 a.m.   All  gates will open at 7:55 a.m. and students will report directly to the café or classrooms to begin their day.

Please remember, students are not permitted to arrive at school prior to 7:55 a.m., as we do not have supervision available.  If prior arrangements have been made with a staff member, students are to check in the front office to wait for the teacher.  Our school end time is 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday through Friday, and  Monday & early release dismissal is at 1:00 p.m.

Arrival Procedures

Dismissal Procedures

All students must be picked up by 3:00 p.m. (1:00 p.m. on Mondays and other early release days).  There is no supervision after this time.  Dens Club is a before/after school program that is available for a monthly fee.  Please call Dysart’s Community Education department for more details at 623-876-7056.

Preschool:  Park in an actual parking spot in the front parking lot.  Do not park in the front drive at any time.  Per state regulations, pre-school parents are required to sign-out their child, in the classroom, with proper identification.  Escort your child through the West Kindergarten gate.  There will be window tags given to preschool parents to allow them entry to the front parking lot at dismissal.

Kindergarten:  Teachers will have students organized by how they will be picked up (by parent, walking with sibling, and so forth) and will assist in supervising students, coordinating pick-ups at the gate, and assisting children to their vehicles.  Students will be released through the South Kindergarten gate.  Drivers are to remain in the vehicle at all times.  If you are walking to the gate to pick up your child, please park in an actual parking spot in the front lot.  If you are in a vehicle to pick up, proceed through the KG Loading Lane.  Students will be entering the vehicle on the passenger side. There will be window tags given to kindergarten parents to allow them entry to the KG Loading Lane at dismissal.

1st-8th Grade Pickup:  Students will use the appropriate designated lane for 1st-3rd,  or 4th-8th designated lane, to be picked up by car. Students will remain in the area supervised by teachers until their ride is moved to the appropriate area. With that we ask cars pull all the way forward, load your student(s) and leave the loading lane promptly, to allow other cars to load in a timely manner.

1st-8th Walkers and Bike/Scooter Riders : Students will exit through the back field or the south KG gate. Students will need to utilize the crosswalks and bike lanes in the front and back of the school.
