STEAM Signature Program

Student doing a science experimentMountain View is a Pre-K through 8th grade school that integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics into everything we do. We are an AdvancED STEAM certified school!

In all content areas, students learn to use the Engineering Design Process to solve real-world problems, design and evaluate their solutions.  All of our students apply the content skills they have mastered in class to solve new challenges that arise from a rapidly changing world. Our students are taught to be creators, collaborators, communicators, and critical thinkers.

Each grade level and program implements STEAM units that include Business Marketing, Digital Communication, and Engineering.  Students have a variety of opportunities to showcase their work: STEAM Community Nights, Shark Tank Competitions, Robotic Competitions, Science Olympiad, Skills USA, State Competitions,  District and School level activities. Most importantly, students and staff build STEAM partnerships to enhance their learning and purposeful productivity. 


By engaging students in the literacy and skills of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics, Mountain View prepares future Dysart graduates in their pursuit of STEAM careers, a future workforce, and higher levels of education.

Connection to the 3A's 

  • Increase student achievement across content areas by providing a reliable, sustainable framework to improve learning that instills our students with 21st century skills, the 4Cs (Collaborator, Communicator, Critical Thinker, and Creator),  STEAM literacy, and strategies.
  • Provide individualized, personalized and differentiated instructional practices that support inquiry‐based and experiential learning, engineering principles, and performance‐based assessment.
  • Promote the development of computer based literacy skills, higher‐order thinking skills, problem solving skills and multimedia communication skills.

  • Explore a variety of methods to be digital communicators.
  • Incorporate Business Marketing techniques into STEAM projects and activities.
  • Provide opportunities within the school day and outside of the school day: electives, Art Club, Craft Club, Keva Club, etc.

  • Incorporate interdisciplinary STEAM units that directly correlate to a variety of sports: STEM Sports for basketball, soccer, volleyball, and softball.
  • Foster  inquiry‐based and experiential learning, engineering principles, and performance‐based assessment.
  • Provide opportunities for students to participate in STEAM connect Athletic activities.
