Questions A to Z - Coronavirus (Covid-19)

Governor Doug Ducey and Superintendent Kathy Hoffman have ordered statewide school closures through the end of the school year. Remote learning is taking place in Dysart and will continue for the remainder of the school year.

Please feel free to contact your school with specific questions.  Staff are available during normal business hours to talk with families.  See our School Listing Page for phone numbers.

Athletics:
All Dysart high school and middle-level athletic events and practices are suspended through the end of the school year.

Child Care:
At the request of the Governor for additional child care options, we are once again offering our Spring Camp and Growing Minds Preschool. Priority for these programs will first be given to essential medical, public safety and military personnel, second to current Den Club participants, and then to the general public. Limited space is available, and will be based on staffing capacity. Please note that we are taking additional precautions to ensure the health and safety of the children and staff in these programs. Health screenings for students and staff will take place twice a day, additional cleaning and sanitizing procedures will be followed, and class sizes will be reduced to ensure space for social distancing. Parents can enroll or get more information online at www.dysart.org/communityeducation.

Classes:
Remote learning begins March 30. Details can be found at www.dysart.org/RemoteLearning

Cleaning/Sanitizing:
All campuses will undergo a deep cleaning of the entire campus, including furniture, fixtures, drinking fountains, and play equipment. Busses will be completely sanitized, along with all related equipment such as safety vests, car-seats, etc. Dysart has cleaning/sanitizing supplies and sanitizing wands at each site.

College Entrance Exams:
  • AP tests will still be given, but students will take these at home.
  • ADE is exploring alternate testing dates with ACT for schools/districts that were scheduled to test during the designated windows.
  • Cambridge will be cancelling all “sit down” tests.  Instead they will use the internal assessments already built into the course and any external components that they have in order to determine student scores.

Community Education:

Community Education will issue credits to those that have paid for services or events that have been canceled. Please contact the Community Education department at 623-876-7056 or [email protected] for any questions.

Enrichment  classes are currently suspended.

Enrollment:
New students can still be registered at www.dysart.org/registration

Events:

Facility Rentals:
Facility rentals will still be honored at the discretion of the renter. Renters will be required to pay a sanitizing fee and sign a waiver.  Renters that wish to cancel may do so with no penalty.

Fees
We are working on how our process for how credits/refunds will work. Depending on how the fee was paid, different rules may apply. We are working hard to get these systems in place so that we can complete all of these requests as quickly as possible. Please be patient as we work through the sheer volume of transactions with limited staffing.

Please note that by law, athletic and testing fees paid through tax credit contributions cannot be refunded. However, contributors can still apply the tax credit when their state taxes are filed, and receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit. (Please check with your tax consultant for details.) For those with students that will remain at a Dysart school next year, the dollar amount for athletic fees will automatically be placed On-Account to be re-allocated to another tax credit eligible expense for the same student in the next school year.

Field Trips:
All district-sponsored student and staff in and out-of-state travel, including field trips, is suspended until further notice.

Food Services:

Dysart is dedicated to finding a way to give our graduates the recognition they deserve and have worked so hard for over the last four years. Plans are still being considered for graduation ceremonies, and we will share the details as soon as alternate plans are finalized, including how diplomas will be distributed.
