Clubs & Activities

Student Council

Student Council students will focus on refining and implementing leadership skills.  Only students who are elected or appointed will be eligible to be in this club. This club meets during the school day and counts as an elective in the student’s schedule. Students are required to perform duties outside of the school day. 


The purpose of this organization shall be:


  1. To foster a spirit of cooperation among the student body, faculty and administration.
  2. To establish an effective system of student participation in the governing of Ashton Ranch MIddle School.
  3. To provide an experience in which qualities of leadership, scholarship, and sportsmanship will develop.
  4. To provide the structure for correlation and promotion of all student projects and activities including bolstering school spirit and morale. 

ARMS Mustang StuCo is a member of the Arizona Association of Junior High Student Councils (AAJHSC).

Yearbook

Students will be responsible for  producing, managing and distributing the school’s annual publication (yearbook).   Students will develop skills in writing, marketing, layout design, art/graphics, photography, and teamwork with a standards-based approach to the basic concepts in information. This club meets during the school day and counts as an elective in the student’s schedule. Students will be required to attend events outside the school day and sometimes off campus to capture the essence of Mustang events.

National Junior Honor Society

Ashton Ranch partners with NASSP (National Association of Secondary School Principals) and NJHS for the ARMS chapter.  “The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) elevates a school’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship.” - NJHS. Students are selected by meeting the minimum qualifications of the five pillars of NJHS. Together they support academic excellence and promote being Mustang PROUD.
