High School Athletics

OVERVIEW

Dysart schools offer comprehensive athletic programs for high school students. Within the sports programs, young people learn the values associated with discipline, performing under stress, citizenship, sportsmanship, confidence, leadership and organizational skills, participating within rules, physical well-being and striving towards excellence.

To participate in high school athletics, all student athletes must enroll for Register My Athlete which allows families to quickly register and ensure all student documents are submitted to the school.

Steps for Participation

Create an account or log onto registermyathlete.com
Fill in or update all sport, school, athlete, guardian, insurance, and medical information
Freshman and new students must complete the online concussion course & opioid education course (valid for five years)
Transfer students must have their parents complete additional forms
Each athlete must obtain a physical every year

Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment & Cognitive Testing

For the protection the health of our student athletes, DUSD has implemented a concussion assessment tool known as ImPACT which stands for Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing. ImPACT is the most widely used computerized concussion evaluation system among school athletics. The student athlete will undergo a baseline test at the start of the sports season. These baseline scores are recorded and stored on a secure web portal. If a student athlete is suspected of having a concussion, a post injury test is administered. Test results are compared to baseline scores and provided to the student's healthcare provider as assessment of the injury.
