OVERVIEW

Dysart schools offer comprehensive athletic programs for all students. Within the sports programs, young people learn the values associated with discipline, performing under stress, citizenship, sportsmanship, confidence, leadership and organizational skills, participating within rules, physical well-being and striving towards excellence. We aim to provide positive experiences and guide our student athletes toward realizing their full potential. Win or lose, our students learn lessons of a lasting and positive nature.

Unified Sports

Unified Sports is defined as social inclusion through shared sports training and competition experiences. Unified Sports joins people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team. It was inspired by a simple principle: training together and playing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding. In Dysart Unified Sports, teams are made up of people of similar age and ability, which makes practices more fun and games more challenging and exciting for all. Having sport in common is just one more way that preconceptions and false ideas are swept away.
