Dysart to host Instrument Drive
The Dysart Unified School District is hosting an Instrument Drive in conjunction with the Dysart Festival of the Arts on April 20, 2019 from 10am-2pm at Valley Vista High School. The purpose of this drive is to encourage community members with unused instruments to consider donating them to the elementary and high schools of Dysart Unified School District.

The district offers band and orchestra courses to students beginning in fifth grade through their senior year in high school. One of the biggest challenges for many students who wish to play an instrument is the cost to rent or purchase them. While the district does have some instruments to lend out to students, the goal is to continue to build inventory so more instruments are available to students.

The Instrument Drive Booth will have Dysart staff available to accept instrument donations and complete the Gifts and Donation Form.  If you have an instrument you would like to donate but are unable to attend the event, please contact Danae Marinelli at [email protected] to arrange a time to set up a donation drop-off.

Instruments needed include, but are not limited to, flutes, clarinets, saxophones, trumpets, French horns, trombones, baritones, tubas, violins, violas, cellos, string basses, guitars, pianos, and ukuleles.   At this time the district is unable to accept organs. We accept instruments in working condition or those that need minor repairs. If you are unsure of the condition of your instrument, we are happy to take a closer look on the day of the event.

The Dysart Festival of the Arts will encompass multiple performances by band, choir, dance teams, and theatre troops from all of our elementary and high school programs. The Dysart visual arts programs from all K-12 schools will have their 2D and 3D art show on display. The Dysart Education Foundation will also be hosting an arts and crafts vendor fair and food trucks will be available to enjoy. The event is free and open to the entire community.
