Dysart schools named A+ Schools of Excellence
DYSART SCHOOLS - Shadow Ridge High School and Valley Vista High School have been named A+ Schools of Excellence by the Arizona Education Foundation.  The A+ School of Excellence is a comprehensive school assessment program that celebrates outstanding schools and brings to light the positive stories and successes happening in public schools every day. The schools will be formally presented with the award at ceremonies later this month.

“The Dysart community is very proud of the extraordinary efforts made at Shadow Ridge High School and Valley Vista High School to provide students with an amazing learning experience,” said Dr. Quinn Kellis, Dysart Superintendent.

A+ School of Excellence recipients are evaluated on many areas, including student focus and support, school culture, active teaching and learning, leadership, community and parent involvement, and assessment data. Selected schools must demonstrate high student academic achievement or growth over time, participate in site visits by state education leaders, and document in detail the school’s leadership and commitment to excellence, equity, and service. The application process is collaborative, and involves all stakeholders - students, staff, and the community.

The Arizona Educational Foundation fosters excellence in education by administering statewide programs that enhance the capabilities of Arizona’s schools to strengthen the teaching profession, design high quality curricula, stimulate high student achievement, cultivate partnerships with schools and businesses, and celebrate the successes in K-12 public education in Arizona.
