Dysart Cheer Teams Sweep Top Spots
DYSART SCHOOLS - Three Dysart Unified School District schools swept the top three spots to qualify for the state championships in the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) Spirit Line State Qualifier on Saturday, January 29, 2022. In the Coed Cheer Division 1/2, Willow Canyon High School placed first, Shadow Ridge High School second, and Valley Vista High School third. Additionally, Shadow Ridge placed first in Partner Stunt.

Specialty awards were also given to Willow Canyon for Synchronized Tumbling, Dynamic Dance, Solid Stunt Sequence, and Creative Pyramid Transitions. All three schools will compete in the state finals on March 12, 2022.

Dysart Schools cheer and pom teams are no strangers to success, earning 15 state titles since 2010 between Dysart High School (2), Valley Vista High School (6), and Willow Canyon High School (7).  Willow Canyon has won four consecutive state championship titles between cheer and pom since 2018, and three consecutive USA Spirit Nationals since 2019.
