per your request your password will be mailed to your residence on Friday's; however, if you are in the neighborhood please feel free to drop in with your picture I.D. and obtain your password.*

Picture Retakes

Picture retakes...say CHEESE!

If you would like to have your student retake their photograph please bring back the package they currently have. Grads will photograph the student and reprint the package using the new image.

Any student who has not been photographed this year has the option of purchasing a package which can be accomplished by completing the attached flyer (Click on the photographer). Also, packets are available in the office upon request, please notify your student's teacher.

The Phoenix Symphony

Ashton Ranch is proud to host the
Whiteman Foundation Phoenix Symphony String Ensemble
November 21, 2008

The Ashton Ranch Students K-8 will attend a performance by the Phoenix Symphony on Thursday, November 21,2008. It is a well know fact that music and arts exercise the brain and develops the imagination. Two programs will be conducted, the first program - “Lights, Camera, Action” will be attended by grades K-4, and will be moderated by cellist Laurie Stearns Selby, this program explores how music creates mood and drama.

The second program – “Science of Sound” will be attended by grades 5-8 and will be moderated by violist Mark Dix, this program will demonstrate the “science of sound.” This is an unique opportunity for all students and we thank the Phoenix Symphony for providing this wonderful occasion.

Ashton Ranch Green Club

Did you know that Ashton Ranch now has it's very own Green Club?

The Green Club meets every other Wednesday, students from grades 2- 8 meet and discuss recycling education and tips for conservation of water and energy.

In addition they collect recycling throughout the school, they come up with ideas, tips of the week, and they generate ideas for for school wide contests.

Spelling Bee

2008-2009 ASHTON RANCH SPELLING BEE

Can you believe a year has gone by since our very own Cole Connelly represented the Dysart District at the Regional Spelling Bee….and it all started here, at Ashton Ranch Elementary!

Cole won his Classroom Bee, the Ashton Ranch School Bee, the Dysart District Bee and went on to represent us in the Regional Bee!

Students can start studying now for a chance to travel to Washington D.C. in May of 2009 to be the United States Spelling Bee Champion.

· Classroom Bees will be conducted the week of November 17^th -26th

· Our School Bee will be conducted on December 10^th at 8:30

· The District School Bee will be conducted on January 22, 2009

The school winner will represent Ashton Ranch at the District Spelling Bee.

Parents please help your student(s) study their words and feel free to come out to support the classroom winners on December 10^th.
