Meet the Superintendent

Image - Dr. Jim Dean

Dr. Jim Dean was approved as Dysart Schools Superintendent in October, 2022.  He has been with Dysart since 2005, previously serving as a Principal, Director of Public Relations, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Assistant Superintendent for Support Services. Dean has also served as a principal, assistant principal, teacher and high school coach in other districts prior to joining Dysart. In 2020, Dean was named a Distinguished Administrator for the Education Services Division by Arizona School Administrators (ASA) for his dedication and leadership towards students, staff and colleagues. Dean participates in a variety of educational and community organizations, and is currently serving as the President of the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) Executive Board. He holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Acacia University, Masters in Educational Leadership from University of Phoenix and a Bachelors in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University. Dean’s doctoral research focused on training models for aspiring school administrators.

Superintendent's Advisory Councils

The Superintendent's Advisory Councils provide an opportunity to expand communications with District stakeholders and provides input and leadership in developing plans that will make an impact on school campuses in the Dysart Community.  Every meeting provides time for free exchange and discussion.  Meeting information for each group is posted below.  For more information, please call 623.876.7002.

Parent Advisory Council Meetings

These meetings are attended by campus parent leaders and administrators.  The group meets four times per year.  All meetings are held at the Dysart District Office.  

Certified Staff Advisory Council 

This group includes certified staff representatives from each campus.  The group meets four times per year. All meetings are held at the Dysart District Office.

Classified Staff Advisory Council 

This group includes support staff representatives from each campus and from district departments.  The group meets four times per year.  All meetings are held at the Dysart District Office.

High School Student Advisory 

This group includes student leadership at each high school campus and the district's alternative program. Meetings are held on each high school campus and the alternative program three times per year.

Dysart Student Leadership Council 

This group includes four student leader representatives from each High School Student Advisory. The group meets monthly.  All meetings are at the Dysart District Office.
