Which school will my child attend? School boundaries, even for new schools, are set each new school year. To determine your child's home school refer to the online attendance map links below. Dysart Unified School District offers parents the opportunity to express their preference for any district school. Students can request an open enrollment application to any school in the district provided space is available. Parents registering their children at a school other than their home school will be responsible for transportation. Principals at each school will accept open enrollment requests based upon capacity as determined by current enrollment and anticipated growth margin. Click here for a map of Dysart's school boundaries. How do I register my child for school? Parents can complete registration at their child's home school (see above for boundary maps). To register, the following documents are required and/or helpful: original copy of birth certificate, information on last school attended, official withdrawal from last school and applicable academic records, proof of residence (water bill, lease or purchase agreement), custody or guardianship papers and/or any other court documents, and, proof of immunization (shot records). What if my child does not have some or all of the required immunizations? Children who require immunizations can receive them free of charge from the Dysart Unified School District. Required student immunizations include: DTAP/DTP (Diptheria, Tetanus and Pertussis), IPV/OPV (Polio), MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella), Hepatitis B, and Varicella (Chicken Pox vaccine or history of disease, a requirement at some grade levels). Children must be 5 years old prior to September 1 to enroll. Is transportation provided for my child? State law specifies that a local governing board may provide transportation for students to and from school. Dysart Unified School District policy provides busing for eligible students. Information regarding bus routes and times are available at each school office or use our bus and school locator by clicking on the link below. If you have questions regarding eligibility of your student for busing, please contact the district's transportation department at 623.876.7030. What special programs or services are available at my child's school? Each Dysart Unified School District campus is tailored to meet the needs of the student population and the community. Thus, programs differ among schools across the district. To get a basic outline of the programs and services offered at your neighborhood school, please view the individual school websites (found on our schools page) to find information on athletic offerings, academic courses and after-school programs. Where can I learn more about Dysart Unified School District curriculum? The Dysart Curriculum and Instruction Department supports the Arizona Standards based curriculum for every school campus. Guides are available at each campus for particular implementation of those standards throughout the year. These guides describe skills the state of Arizona expects students to acquire and provide some of the methods students will employ to demonstrate that mastery. The school district cannot recommend child care providers, but the state’s Department of Economic Security – which licenses child care facilities – has a referral system established to assist parents in locating quality child care facilities.
