DMS is gearing up for the 2026-2027 school year!
Beginning July 8th our office will reopen for the 2026-2027 school year! The office is open from 7:15am-3:30pm Monday-Thursday and will be closed on Friday July 10th & July 17th.

New Student Enrollment Open for 26-27 School Year
Dysart Unified School District is accepting new PreK-12 student enrollment applications for the 2026-2027 school year. Parents and guardians can complete the necessary registration information online at Dysart.org/enroll at any time. Within the enrollment application, parents are able to select their home school, or request their child attend another school outside of their boundary school, including Freedom Traditional Academy, through Open Enrollment. Preschool enrollment options are also available on the main enrollment link above, as well as at GrowingMindsPreschool.org. Learn more at Dysart.org/Preschool.
For in-person enrollment assistance between June 8th and July 1st, families may visit the District Office Monday through Thursday at 15802 N. Parkview Place in Surprise, Arizona from 8am-4:30pm. All K-12 school offices will reopen for in person enrollment on Wednesday, July 8.
Please note that in order to finalize registration the following documents will be required: government issued photo identification; birth certificate; proof of residency; and immunization records. To keep up with their child’s academic progress, parents are encouraged to sign up for the Parent Portal at Dysart.org/parentportal or via the Campus Parent app, available as early as 24 hours after registration is finalized. - May 22nd-29th 7:15am-3:30pm, closed May 25th in observance of Memorial Day.

Last Day of School May 21st
Students will be released at 11:15am on Wednesday, May 20th and Thursday, May 21st. Thursday, May 21st is also our last day of school for the 2025-2026 school year. Families, please don't forget to make transportation arrangements to have your student picked up on time. Thank you to all of our students, families, and community supporters; it has been a wonderful school year! See you in August!

8th Grade Promotion
8th grade Promotion will be held on Thursday, May 21st at The Vista Center for the Arts, (15660 N Parkview Pl, Surprise, AZ 85374). The ceremony will begin at 3:00pm, but students should plan to arrive by 2:30pm to line up for the processional. There is no ticket requirement and all are welcome to attend. Parking is limited, so carpool if possible and please keep all balloon bouquets in your vehicle until after the promotion ceremony.

Chromebook collections begin Monday, May 11, 2026
On Monday, we will begin collecting Chromebooks, starting with any Chromebooks that have missing keys, cracks, brackets, connection issues, etc. We will complete work orders as they are collected. Be advised that students whose Chromebooks are broken may incur charges.
The rest of the Chromebooks will be collected by grade level beginning Tuesday. Be sure to turn in your charger. Missing or damaged chargers will need to be replaced. Parents, please check your student's Chromebook and charger.
Welcome Back!
We are moving into our last quarter of the school year which includes state testing. Families, please take a look at our testing calendar and be sure your students is present, on time each day. They will need to bring their Chromebooks charged each day.

Spring Break-No School
There will be no school Monday, March 16th-Friday, March 20th for Spring Break. The school office will also be closed and will reopen on Monday, March 23rd at 7:15am. Remember to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather! We will see everyone back on Monday the 23rd rested, relaxed, and ready to take on the last quarter of the school year!
2026 Color Run
We’re excited to share that our Color Run fundraiser is coming soon! This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and a fun way to support our students while building school spirit. The fundraiser will run March 2nd-March 13th. With our Color Run event being held on Friday, March 13th.
Our schoolwide goal is to raise: $10,000! The funds raised will support our House System, field trips, and school-wide incentives for students and staff.

No School in Observance of President's Day
There is no school in observance of President's Day on Monday, February 16th. The office will also be closed and will reopen on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
Parent Survey
It’s Time to Complete the Annual Parent Survey!
Please remember to complete our annual Parent Survey if you haven’t already done so. We want to know what our district and school are doing well and how we can improve in the future. Family Conferences
Family conferences will be held January 26th and February 2nd-February 6th. Please sign up for a time to meet on ParentSquare. If you have questions or need assistance, please call 623-876-7100. Also, students will be released at 1:00pm on Thursday, February 5th and Friday, February 6th.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
There will be no school and our front office will be closed in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on January 19th. School will resume on Tuesday, January 20th for the 100th day of school!

Early Release and Winter Break
Dysart Middle School will release all students at 11:15am on Friday, December 19th. There is also no school from December 22nd to January 6th for Winter Break. The office will also be closed during this time and will reopen on Tuesday, January 6th, at 7:15am. School will resume for all students on Tuesday, January 6th at 7:55am.

NJHS Induction 2025
We are so proud to welcome 23 new inductees to the DMS chapter of the National Junior Honor Society! NJHS recognizes students who excel in scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. These outstanding students have demonstrated a commitment to excellence both in and out of the classroom, and we are excited to celebrate their achievements! Congratulations to all of our new members!

DMS Fine Arts Night
Please join us for our winter Fine Arts Night. The event will take place on Monday, December 16th at 6:00pm in the cafeteria. The evening will include a beautiful art display and performances by:

- 5th/6th Grade Choir
- 7th/8th Grade Band
We hope to see everyone there and thank everyone for supporting our Fine Arts Department!
Thanksgiving Recess
There will be no school November 24th-November 28th for Thanksgiving Break. Students will return on Monday, December 1st; gates will open at 7:55am.
The office will also be closed and will reopen on Monday, December 1st at 7:15am. We hope you enjoy your time with friends and family. We are truly grateful for all of our staff, students and families of DMS!
