New Student Enrollment Open for 26-27 School Year
Dysart Unified School District is accepting new PreK-12 student enrollment applications for the 2026-2027 school year. Parents and guardians can complete the necessary registration information online at Dysart.org/enroll at any time. Within the enrollment application, parents are able to select their home school, or request their child attend another school outside of their boundary school, including Freedom Traditional Academy, through Open Enrollment. Preschool enrollment options are also available on the main enrollment link above, as well as at GrowingMindsPreschool.org. Learn more at Dysart.org/Preschool.
For in-person enrollment assistance between June 8th and July 1st, families may visit the District Office Monday through Thursday at 15802 N. Parkview Place in Surprise, Arizona from 8am-4:30pm. All K-12 school offices will reopen for in person enrollment on Wednesday, July 8.
Please note that in order to finalize registration the following documents will be required: government issued photo identification; birth certificate; proof of residency; and immunization records. To keep up with their child’s academic progress, parents are encouraged to sign up for the Parent Portal at Dysart.org/parentportal or via the Campus Parent app, available as early as 24 hours after registration is finalized. City of El Mirage Essay Contest Winners
The winners from the City of El Mirage Essay contest were selected in grade bands. Second and third place winners were also recognized. Students were recognized at the City of El Mirage City Council Meeting on April 21, 2026, where they were presented with certificates and ribbons. For grades 3-5, first place was awarded to Kenzie Johnson and Lucas Dobos, who has this to say about their hometown, “[We] love El Mirage because even though we have a small city, we have a huge community with our neighbors and friends. We all work together to make our city the best it can be!” Alexia Espinoza and Mia Espinosa placed second, and Billiabella Leyena and Nina Marmullaku rounded out the category placing third. There are 5 Elementary schools in the City of El Mirage, and all three winning teams are from El Mirage Elementary School
Volunteer Breakfast
The Volunteer Breakfast was held on April 21, 2026. We are so grateful to all of our volunteers for the time that they dedicate to our Tiger family. They volunteer in a variety of ways, ranging from the Parent/Teacher Organization to working with students in small groups and individually. They are a vital part of our community, and we couldn't do it without them. Thank you for being a part of our family. Tigers ROAR!
Spring Egg Hunt
Our kindergarteners participated in a Spring Egg Hunt on April 3. The event was filled with excitement and laughter. Students decorated bags and eagerly searched high and low for hidden eggs scattered across the playground. The activity not only sparked joy and curiosity but also encouraged teamwork and sharing.
Fun Run
Fun Run 2026 was huge success on March 30. The students had a blast running around the field getting sprayed with colorful chalk. Thank you to our amazing Tiger families for supporting this fun filled fund raiser. And a big thank to our staff members, PTO, and other volunteers who helped to make this memorable event possible.
Children's Museum of Phoenix
On February 25, our Tiger Kindergarteners went on a field trip to the Children's Museum of Phoenix. "The Children's Museum of Phoenix provides hands-on exhibits and educational activities to engage the minds, muscles and imaginations of children and the grown-ups who care about them, while promoting cooperative interaction." Our kinders had a great time, and we are so grateful that they were able to visit the museum.
Dysart High School Girls Wrestling Team Visits El Mirage
Members of the Girls Wrestling Team from Dysart High School visited El Mirage Elementary on February 12 and did a presentation for our third and fourth grade girls.
3rd grade through 8th grade girls can join the Dysart Nation Wrestling Club. The cost is $20 per month. Training is Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. The first training session will be March 24, 2026. Contact [email protected] for more questions. You must have a USA Wrestling membership to participate.
Flyers will be coming home with 3rd and 4th grade girls. We will also have some in the office.
Parent Survey
It’s Time to Complete the Annual Parent Survey!
Please remember to complete our annual Parent Survey if you haven’t already done so. We want to know what our district and school are doing well and how we can improve in the future. 100th Day of School
Tuesday, January 20, 2026, was the 100th Day of School. Students and staff celebrated by dressing up as 100 year old's and counting by 100. Our second semester is off to a great start. TIGERS ROAR!

Polar Express Night
On Thursday, December 11, we held our first Polar Express Night. It was a huge success. The courtyard was full of El Mirage families and staff members as they gathered to eat and watch The Polar Express. Thank you to everyone who came out. We would like to wish Happy Holidays to all of our Tigers! We will see you back at school on January 6, 2026.
Subaru of Surprise Donation
We would like to thank Subaru of Surprise for donating gifts to some of our students this holiday season. Subaru of Surprise has been a huge supporter of our Tigers for many years, and we are grateful for their continued partnership. Thank you so much!
Holiday Shop
Our Holiday Shop is open the week of December 8 through December 12. The Holiday Shop is made possible through our amazing PTO and is an opportunity for students to purchase gifts for their family members. We are so grateful for our amazing volunteers who make sure everything runs smoothly.
Thanksgiving Lunch
On November 18, we had the pleasure of hosting our Thanksgiving Lunch with parents and students parents and students. It was a great opportunity to come together and celebrate as a school community. Thank you to all of the families who came out, and thank you to our hard working cafeteria staff.
Go Big BMX Assembly
On November 13, students were treated to an exciting and high-energy Go Big BMX Assembly, featuring professional BMX riders who combined jaw-dropping stunt performances with powerful life messages. The athletes captured the audience’s attention with spins, jumps, and tricks—then grounded their performance with stories about character, kindness and making positive choices.
Cross Country
Congratulations to Coach Key and our amazing Tiger Cross Country Team. They are having a great cross country season this year. At the last meet, Allison Serrano got second place. We are so proud of our Tigers! Their hard work and dedication is definitely paying off.
Dysart Schools Earns an "A" Rating
Dysart Schools is excited to announce that all schools in the district earned an “A” or “B” rating in the 2025 state accountability labels. Additionally, Dysart Unified School District received an overall “A” rating as a district for the third year in a row. This letter grade provides us a glimpse into many areas of proficiency and growth for our school, including information about student achievement, college and career readiness, student growth, and other key areas of interest. We appreciate our hardworking students, staff and parents for their contributions in making our school an “A” rated school!

Trunk or Treat 2025
Our Trunk or Treat event at El Mirage Elementary School on October 27 was a huge success! Families gathered in the courtyard for an evening full of Halloween fun, laughter, and community spirit. Creative trunk decorations, exciting costumes, and sweet treats filled the night with joy. Students, parents, and staff all joined in the festivities, making it a safe and memorable way to celebrate the season together. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this spooky celebration so special!
