First Day of School
The first day of school is Thursday, August 6—we can’t wait to see everyone back on campus, ready to learn, grow, and make it a great year. Be sure to get a good night’s rest, pack those backpacks, and come ready for an amazing start!
Back-to-School Information
Back-to-school time has arrived, and we are excited to welcome our students and families for a new school year!
- School Office Reopens: July 8th. Hours are Monday–Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Happy Independence Day!
The 250th birthday of the United States is a milestone honoring our nation’s history, freedom, and the people who make it great. As you enjoy fireworks, family, and festivities, take a moment to reflect on 250 years of independence and the bright future ahead. Stay safe and have a wonderful 4th of July!
Father’s Day June 21
Celebrating fathers and father figures for their love, guidance, and support. This day honors the important role they play in nurturing, encouraging, and shaping the lives of children and families.
New Student Enrollment Open for 26-27 School Year
Dysart Unified School District is accepting new PreK-12 student enrollment applications for the 2026-2027 school year. Parents and guardians can complete the necessary registration information online at Dysart.org/enroll at any time. Within the enrollment application, parents are able to select their home school, or request their child attend another school outside of their boundary school, including Freedom Traditional Academy, through Open Enrollment. Preschool enrollment options are also available on the main enrollment link above, as well as at GrowingMindsPreschool.org. Learn more at Dysart.org/Preschool.
For in-person enrollment assistance between June 8th and July 1st, families may visit the District Office Monday through Thursday at 15802 N. Parkview Place in Surprise, Arizona from 8am-4:30pm. All K-12 school offices will reopen for in person enrollment on Wednesday, July 8.
Please note that in order to finalize registration the following documents will be required: government issued photo identification; birth certificate; proof of residency; and immunization records. To keep up with their child’s academic progress, parents are encouraged to sign up for the Parent Portal at Dysart.org/parentportal or via the Campus Parent app, available as early as 24 hours after registration is finalized. Office Closed Memorial Day - May 25
Monday, May 25 is Memorial Day. School offices will be closed as we honor and remember the service and sacrifice of our nation’s military members.
Summer Break
Have a safe, fun, and relaxing summer break, Luke Jets! The last day of school is May 21, and we hope you enjoy every moment of your summer adventures with family and friends. We look forward to welcoming all students back for the first day of school on August 6. Have an amazing summer, Jets!
Early Dismissal May 20 & 21
Wednesday May 20 and Thursday May 21 are half days with dismissal at 12:00 PM. Please plan accordingly for pickup or after-school arrangements.
Kindergarten & 8th Grade Promotions

These special events celebrate their hard work, growth, and accomplishments as they move on to the next exciting chapter of their educational journey. Flag Day June 14th
Honoring the American flag and the values it represents, including freedom, unity, and democracy. This day encourages reflection on the meaning of the flag and the shared ideals it symbolizes for our country.
Early Dismissal & Office Closed
Luke Elementary will dismiss at 12:00pm on May 20 & 21. The Front Office will be closing early at 1:00pm on both days
Health Office Assistant Day
May 6 is Health Office Assistant Day! We are grateful for Ms. Amber and all she does to care for our students’ health and well-being every day!
School Lunch Hero Day
Friday, May 1 is School Lunch Hero Day! We are grateful for our cafeteria staff who provide nutritious meals and care for our students every day. Thank you for being heroes in the lunchroom!
