Welcome to the 26-27 School Year!
The 26-27 school year is upon us and we are so excited! We have a lot of new and exciting things planned this year. We wanted to start of my providing some important upcoming information for you.
- The front office will be open 8am-4:30pm beginning July 8.
- Meet the Teacher is from 5pm-6:30pm on August 4. Class Lists will be posted on campus at that time.
- First day of school is August 6. School begins at 9am. Parents can walk their child to class on this day only.
- School Supply Lists are available HERE.
- Parent Square will open to parents on July 28th. It's VERY important that you register for Parent Square when you receive your invitation. This is the only way (besides Website postings) that our school, and your child's teacher, will communicate with you.
New Student Enrollment Open for 26-27 School Year
Dysart Unified School District is accepting new PreK-12 student enrollment applications for the 2026-2027 school year. Parents and guardians can complete the necessary registration information online at Dysart.org/enroll at any time. Within the enrollment application, parents are able to select their home school, or request their child attend another school outside of their boundary school, including Freedom Traditional Academy, through Open Enrollment. Preschool enrollment options are also available on the main enrollment link above, as well as at GrowingMindsPreschool.org. Learn more at Dysart.org/Preschool.
For in-person enrollment assistance between June 8th and July 1st, families may visit the District Office Monday through Thursday at 15802 N. Parkview Place in Surprise, Arizona from 8am-4:30pm. All K-12 school offices will reopen for in person enrollment on Wednesday, July 8.
Please note that in order to finalize registration the following documents will be required: government issued photo identification; birth certificate; proof of residency; and immunization records. To keep up with their child’s academic progress, parents are encouraged to sign up for the Parent Portal at Dysart.org/parentportal or via the Campus Parent app, available as early as 24 hours after registration is finalized. It's Summer Time!
School is officially out for summer. The front office will be closed beginning June 5th. We will reopen on July 8th. The 26-27 optional school supply lists are available by scrolling to the bottom of this page, under Essential Resources then School Supply List. Have a WONDERFUL summer and please stay safe!

8th Grade Promotion
Mountain View will be hosting our 25-26 8th grade promotion at Shadow Ridge High School on May 20th at 1:00 pm. Doors will open at 12:45 pm.
In order to make this an enjoyable experience for all, no balloons, horns, etc will be allowed. Due to the event being held in the gym, no food or drinks will be permitted as well.

Bus Driver Appreciation Day
Bus Driver Appreciation Day is April 28th. Please consider taking a moment to let them know how much you appreciate them. They are truly invaluable to our community.
District STEM & Robotics Challenge
Congratulations to our Mountain Lions on a job well done. They all worked very hard, with our 8th grade team placing 3rd in the STEM challenge. "These 8th-grade Mountain Lions have spent the last 12 weeks pouring their passion for future success into creating a program designed to set students up for future college and career readiness" ~Ms. Wilson
Autism Awareness Month
Autism Awareness (or Acceptance) Month, dedicated to raising awareness, promoting inclusion, and celebrating the strengths of individuals on the autism spectrum. It highlights the need for acceptance, support, and resources for the 1 in 36 children identified with ASD, encouraging education and action within communities
April 1: Paraprofessional Appreciation Day
At Mountain View, we know that our AMAZING paraprofessionals strive daily to support our students and our teachers. We appreciate them and all of their hard work. Take a moment to thank a paraprofessional today!
April is Month of the Military Child
Month of the Military Child is a special recognition that was established in 1986 by former Defense Secretary Casper Weinberger. This month serves as a reminder of the role that military children play in contributing to the strength of military families.
Purple Up Day is April 15th. Wear purple on this day to show your appreciation for these children.

February 2nd is Groundhog Day
Did You Know?
Groundhog Day, celebrated annually on February 2nd, is a tradition where a groundhog emerges from its burrow to predict the arrival of spring; if it sees its shadow (sunny day), winter lasts six more weeks, but if it doesn't (cloudy day), spring comes early, with the most famous prognosticator being Punxsutawney Phil in Pennsylvania, a custom rooted in German folklore and formalized in the U.S. in the 1880s.
