Dysart Unified School District is accepting new PreK-12 student enrollment applications for the 2026-2027 school year. Parents and guardians can complete the necessary registration information online at Dysart.org/enroll at any time. Within the enrollment application, parents are able to select their home school, or request their child attend another school outside of their boundary school, including Freedom Traditional Academy, through Open Enrollment. Preschool enrollment options are also available on the main enrollment link above, as well as at GrowingMindsPreschool.org. Learn more at Dysart.org/Preschool.

For in-person enrollment assistance between June 8th and July 1st, families may visit the District Office Monday through Thursday at 15802 N. Parkview Place in Surprise, Arizona from 8am-4:30pm.  All K-12 school offices will reopen for in person enrollment on Wednesday, July 8.

Please note that in order to finalize registration the following documents will be required: government issued photo identification; birth certificate; proof of residency; and immunization records. To keep up with their child’s academic progress, parents are encouraged to sign up for the Parent Portal at Dysart.org/parentportal or via the Campus Parent app, available as early as 24 hours after registration is finalized. Final Exams for all students will take place on May 20 and May 21. Both days are early release days with dismissal at 10:30 A.M. Students are expected to arrive on time and come prepared for their exams each day. Please review the final exam bell schedule below.

Summer School registration is now open for students in grades 9–11 who need to recover up to two core classes (1.0 credit). Summer School will be held June 1–June 18, 2026, in person at Valley Vista High School. 

Students may choose between a morning session (8:00–11:00 A.M.) or afternoon session (12:00–3:00 P.M.). 

Transportation will be provided from Dysart High School to Valley Vista High School and back. Lunch will also be provided for students attending. 

Please note that registration and payment are due by May 26, 2026.

This is a reminder that seniors will take finals on Wednesday and Thursday, May 6th and 7th. 

Seniors last day of school is Thursday, May 7th. 

Please note: These are not early release days. We will follow the regular bell schedule.

On May 1st, we will also be honoring our graduating seniors with a special recognition ceremony at 6:00 PM on stage—please come early to help us celebrate their achievements.

As a reminder, in preparation for upcoming testing, we want to share the details so you can plan ahead.  Both Freshmen and Juniors will be doing State Testing (ASPIRE/ ACT/ AzSCI) Tuesday, March 31 and Tuesday, April 7th.   On these days our Sophomores and Seniors will have an eLearning Day instead of in-person classes. These will still be official school days, but Sophomores and Seniors will remain at home to complete assigned work, while Freshmen and Juniors will come to campus as usual.   

• All Freshmen and Juniors should be at their bus stop or dropped off at their normal time on March 31 and April 7th.  
• First bell rings at 7:10AM, school ends at 2:15PM
• Sophomores and Seniors will receive an assignment in Schoology to complete by the end of the school day. This assignment will require them to complete work from home on March 31 and April 7.  Their teachers will be available via email if support is needed. Attendance will be recorded based on the assignments that are turned in, but students will NOT be required to attend virtual or live streamed classes. 
• Students in special programs, like ASPIRE and STC, will follow their normal bus and school schedule.

Senior parents, you’re invited to our Graduation Meeting on Thursday, March 12th at 6:00 PM in the DHS New Gym. 

We’ll review graduation requirements, senior check-out and finals, practice dates, senior awards, and important details for graduation day. Jostens will also be available after the meeting for graduation gear orders.

Spring Break is Almost Here! School will be closed March 16th-20th for Spring Break. Enjoy the sunshine, recharge, and we look forward to welcoming students back afterward!

Presidents’ Day – No School

School will be closed on Presidents’ Day in observance of the national holiday. Enjoy the long weekend, and we’ll see everyone back in class the following day!

We warmly invite all community members—especially middle school and high school students and their families—to join us on Thursday, February 12 at Valley Vista High School (15550 N. Parkview Place, Surprise AZ) from 5-7PM for a College & Career Information Night!  

This event is a great opportunity for families who want to start learning more about college and future pathways. Attendees will have the chance to:   

• Meet representatives from a variety of colleges and universities   
• Speak with military representatives   
• Learn about FAFSA, financial aid, and financial planning   
• Attend helpful informational sessions designed for students and families  

Food trucks will be on site, so come hungry and make an evening of it!  

Whether you’re just beginning to explore options or already planning next steps, this event offers valuable information and resources for every stage of the journey. We look forward to welcoming you and your family for an informative and engaging night. We hope to see you there!

It’s Time to Complete the Annual Parent Survey!

Please remember to complete our annual Parent Survey if you haven’t already done so. We want to know what our district and school are doing well and how we can improve in the future. As a reminder, benchmark testing will be taking place soon. These assessments are an important opportunity for students to demonstrate their learning and help teachers plan instruction to best support them. Families play a key role in helping students feel confident and ready. 

Please encourage your student to: 

•  Arrive at school on time 
•  Get a good night’s rest 
•  Come prepared with any required materials 
•  Be present on all testing days, as attendance is essential  

School will be closed on Monday, January 19th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Classes will resume on Tuesday, January 20th. Enjoy the long weekend!
