Do you have a Bachelor's Degree?
We’ll certify you to be a TEACHER with on-the-job training and support.
The Dysart Unified School District is offering an Educator Preparation Program (EPP), called Ready2Teach, which prepares individuals who possess a bachelor’s degree to receive a Classroom-based Standard Elementary Teacher Certificate with paid, on-the-job training and support.
The Ready2Teach Program develops teachers who meet Dysart expectations and the needs of students while recruiting, investing in, and retaining alternative pathway teachers. The program provides paid, job-embedded training and coaching, evidence-based professional development, and ongoing mentorship.
Ready2Teach is a two-year model, with the potential to extend to three years if recommended for a particular teacher. Participants will receive over 150 hours of professional development each year, along with job-embedded coaching and mentorship that includes frequent classroom visits, feedback, modeling, videotaping, and opportunities to observe other classrooms. Ongoing communication with the program teacher and school leadership is a key component of support.
The Ready2Teach Program school year begins two weeks prior to the start of the standard teacher calendar, ends two days after, extends through some breaks, and includes release time from school at least once per month.
There is an exciting opportunity within the Ready2Teach Program designed to prepare interested candidates for entry into the Ready2Teach Program. Dysart is offering a paid opportunity for candidates to gain hands-on classroom experience through a student teaching placement during the Spring semester. Participants will work alongside a mentor teacher, receive quality instruction, engage in lesson planning, and develop strong classroom management skills. Upon successful completion of the student teaching experience, participants will be strongly positioned to enter candidacy in the Ready2Teach Program.
