New Student Enrollment Open for 26-27 School Year
Dysart Unified School District is accepting new PreK-12 student enrollment applications for the 2026-2027 school year. Parents and guardians can complete the necessary registration information online at Dysart.org/enroll at any time. Within the enrollment application, parents are able to select their home school, or request their child attend another school outside of their boundary school, including Freedom Traditional Academy, through Open Enrollment. Preschool enrollment options are also available on the main enrollment link above, as well as at GrowingMindsPreschool.org. Learn more at Dysart.org/Preschool.
For in-person enrollment assistance between June 8th and July 1st, families may visit the District Office Monday through Thursday at 15802 N. Parkview Place in Surprise, Arizona from 8am-4:30pm. All K-12 school offices will reopen for in person enrollment on Wednesday, July 8.
Please note that in order to finalize registration the following documents will be required: government issued photo identification; birth certificate; proof of residency; and immunization records. To keep up with their child’s academic progress, parents are encouraged to sign up for the Parent Portal at Dysart.org/parentportal or via the Campus Parent app, available as early as 24 hours after registration is finalized. Enrollment Information
If you were enrolled with us for the 25/26 school year, your information automatically rolls over to the next school year! If you were not with us for the 25/26 school year, or you withdrew before the last day of school, you will need to complete the enrollment process online.
Once completed, you will receive an email with instructions for the next steps. In order to finalize enrollment you will need the following:
- Completed Enrollment Application Online
- Provide copies of a Proof of Residence, Birth Certificate, and Immunization Records. These can be provided digitally by uploading them during the online application or by bringing copies in person to our front office. Even if uploaded, we will still need to see the original Birth Certificate, along with legal guardian's photo ID, in our office.
- For newly enrolled 5th-8th Grade students you will need to choose Elective Courses. Elective Course Options can be found here:

Meet the Teacher Night
Meet the Teacher Night will be held on Tuesday, August 4th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. We invite all of our families, from Preschool through 8th Grade to join us to see classroom locations, meet teachers, drop off school supplies and get ready for the upcoming school year!
Athletic Opportunities
At Sunset Hills our student athletes bring the Bobcat Pride to any field or court they play on! Our sports are divided into 3 seasons throughout the year and most are open to 6th-8th grade students. Our Cross Country Team is the only sport that takes students younger than 6th grade and it is available to students beginning with the 4th grade. Extracurricular Activities
We have numerous Clubs & Activities for our students to join before and/or after school! This is a great way for your student to get involved with their campus and make connections with other students and staff on our campus. Whether your student wants to be a leader in Student Council, an actor on stage in our annual musical, or even learn to be a gardener; we have the club for you! Art Signature Program
Our Signature Program at Sunset Hills is the Arts, and here we believe that Art can be found in every area of our campus. From the art that we all think about in painting and creating to the Art in athleticism. At Sunset Hills we pride ourselves on finding the Art that surrounds us within all subject areas.

Kinder Experience
Kinder Experience - July 20th to July 23rd
Join us for this free event, 7/20-7/23, from 8am-11am to help your future Kinders with a smooth transition to Kindergarten!
Your child will explore reading and math instruction while learning routines, proceures and expectations needed for making friends and having a succesful school experience. This will help with their transition into school and ease their anxiety as they begin a new school year!

Sunset Hills Talent Show will be on Thursday 1/29!
This event is free to attend and will be held at Sunset Hills at 5pm. Come see the talents of our Bobcat students!
If you are participating in the Talent Show you have a mandatory Dress Rehearsal on Wednesday, 1/28 from 3-5 pm.

Sunset Hills would like to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday season!
We will dismiss early on Friday, December 19th at 11:15 am.
There is no school from December 22nd through Monday, January 5th.
School will resume on Tuesday, January 6th.
Our campus will be closed beginning at noon on Friday, December 19th and will remain closed until January 4th. We will reopen our Front Office on Monday, January 5th to prepare for our students to return on Tuesday, January 6th.

Winter Band Concert 12/10
Wednesday December 10th our Sunset Hills Band will perform their Winter Concert at Shadow Ridge High School beginning at 6:30 pm.
Winter Choir Concerts 12/15
Monday, December 15th our Moonrise and Afterglow groups will perform their Winter Concerts at Shadow Ridge High School. Moonrise will perform at 6 pm. Afterglow will perform at 7 pm.
Kindergarten Winter Concert 12/18
Thursday, December 18th our Kindergarten students will share a special winter concert in our Sunset Hills Gym at 5 pm!
Attendance Challenge Spirit Week 12/1-12/5
It's our Attendance Challenge week where we compete against another school in Dysart district for who can have the best attendance! This year we are competing against Kingswood Park. Daily Grade Level winners will be rewarded with an extra recess! We are also having spirit week this week:

Veterans Day
Sunset Hlls is proud to honor our Veterans and their Families with a Breakfast and Assembly on Friday, November 7th 2025. Breakfast will begin at 7:20 am. Immediately following breakfast we will have a whole school assembly beginning at 8:30.
Thank you to all Veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice they make for us.
There will be no school on Tuesday 11/11 for the Veterans Day Holiday.
