At Sunset Hills we believe there is an art within athletics. We encourage students to try out for multiple sports throughout the school year and to participate in our P.E. Elective courses to help grow core skills to be used in their athletic endeavors. Our athletic program believes that we are stronger as a team and we take that mentality from our practices to our games. Our Bobcats are praised consistently for their sportsmanship and we couldn’t be more proud of that!
The 21/22 school year brought 2 District Championships home to our Bobcats with the Boys Baseball and the Flag Football Teams. All of our sports teams made it to the Semi-Finals this past year, with 4 making it to the championship games. We cannot wait to see what the 22/23 school year brings for our athletes as we begin competing in the Dysart Middle School conference with lengthened seasons and more opportunities.
Our athletes can begin participating as young as 4th grade in Cross Country. The rest of our athletics program is open to our middle school students, grades 6 through 8.
Sunset Hills is part of the Northwest Valley Athletic Conference (NWVAC). NWVAC is comprised of four K-8 and four middle schools from Dysart Unified School District. The top two teams from each region will compete in the Northwest Valley Athletic Conference Tournament of Champions against the top teams from Peoria and Deer Valley Unified School Districts.

Cheer consists of two seasons for each division and a final All District Cheer Competition at the end of the school year. All cheer teams will cheer for their home team at basketball games and flag football games during the winter and spring seasons. The All District Cheer Competition is mandatory for all schools and is hosted by a high school Varsity Cheer Team.
