DEF announces 5K Run

The Dysart Education Foundation (DEF) in partnership with the City of El Mirage will host the Dysart Dash 5K Salute to Veterans Celebration on Saturday, November 2, 2019. The 5K race will begin at 7:30 a.m. followed by a kids fun dash for ages 8 and under. Registration for the race in El Mirage, Arizona, is now available.  The fundraising event helps support students and teachers in the Dysart Unified School District through the foundation’s ongoing contributions. 

Participants will receive an event t-shirt, participation medal, custom race bib and access to real time results.  Medals will be available for the top three finishers in various age groups and top three overall. Discounts are available for early registration with additional discounts for veterans, group registration, and for all DUSD students and staff. Interested participants can register online at www.dysart.org/dysartdash.  Prices will increase after October 15 and November 1.

Stay after the race for the City of El Mirage Salute to Veterans Celebration. This free event features a giant kid’s zone with inflatables, arts and crafts, face painting, live entertainment, food trucks, vendors, military displays and other attractions. The El Mirage Salute to Veterans Celebration is from 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon.

DEF is composed of volunteers who are passionate about supporting education in our community. The foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to raising funds for the purpose of enriching student learning in the Dysart Unified School District and supporting continued education for high school graduates.
