Dysart Seeks Memorabilia and Stories for Centennial Celebration

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — 10/14/2019

The Dysart Unified School District will be celebrating its 100th year of educating the community in the 2020-2021 school year. The district was established as a one-room schoolhouse in 1920 by Nathanial Martin Dysart. Today, Dysart employs more than 2,700 staff members, and has more than 24,000 students at 26 schools. The district encompasses 140 square miles, serving parts of El Mirage, Glendale, Surprise, Youngtown, and Maricopa County. With more than 100 years of history, we know that there are many stories and memories that exemplify the extraordinary experiences students, staff, parents, and community members have had over the past century.

Dysart Unified School District is looking for people to share their memories and stories to be used as part of the centennial celebration. District alumni, staff, students and the community are also invited to help plan the centennial celebrations for the 2020-2021 school year. Help is needed to plan events, research history, collect memorabilia, fundraise, and volunteer at events. Anyone that would like to share a story, memorabilia, or sign up to participate may do so at Dysart.org/Centennial. Dysart looks forward to many more years of providing extraordinary experiences to our community.
