Superintendent Honored for Contributions to Education

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — 11/30/2020

Dysart Superintendent Dr. Quinn Kellis was named the Arizona School Public Relations Association 2020 Superintendent of the Year for his contributions to education. The award recognizes a superintendent for their leadership and high ideals of professionalism; commitment to good communications; support of public relations planning and strategies; and the ability to work with staff, parents and the community for the benefit of students.

Excerpts from his nomination include:

  • “Dr. Kellis easily balances the leadership demands with approachability, collaboration and a regular focus on communications. He makes himself available to all stakeholders in a variety of ways, and is unusually responsive to emails and phone calls for a superintendent of a district this size.”
  • “Dr. Kellis strives for transparency and accountability in everything.  He conducts countless meetings with various stakeholders to ensure their voices are heard. And he genuinely listens and takes into consideration what he hears. Over the last two years, he visited every school in the district at least once a month, among attending many other Arts events and Athletic competitions. He is highly visible and extremely approachable to all.”
  • “When it comes to superintendents that contribute to and support public relations and communications efforts, Dr. Quinn Kellis goes to the top of the list. Simply put, he is extraordinary.”

The Dysart Office of Communications and Public Relations also won several awards for their publications, including Excellence awards for the College and Career CTE Expo multimedia campaign, CTE photos, Mock Crash Prelude video, and a Dysart Breaking Barriers article. Merit awards were received for the Community Connect magazine, Super in 60 video series, Drive-thru Promotion Celebration photos, and Veteran Celebrations photos.
