Attention Class of 2024 and Beyond

College 101 Night

The Dysart Unified School District will host a College 101 Night for parents interested in learning about the college acceptance and financial aid process. The event will take place on Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 5pm-7pm at Valley Vista High School, located at 15550 N. Parkview Place in Surprise, Arizona

  • Saving for College 
  • Financial Planning 
  • And More

Ottawa University College Tour

Current Seniors,  Our Counseling team has scheduled a college tour to Ottawa University, February 28, 2024 from 9am- 2pm. Transportation and lunch will be provided for the chosen students who attend. Also,  due to the limited amount of spots, only 14 seniors who are on track to graduate will be chosen, on a first come first serve basis. So, if you are interested, come pick up a permission slip  from Ms. White's desk  labeled "DHS Parent Permission Form" in the counseling office and submit it by Friday February 2, 2024 to be considered.  No permission slips submitted after the deadline date (above) will be taken.



Desert Palms Scholarship Program

This is a scholarship provided through the Desert Palms Presbyterian Church of  Sun City West, and offers scholarships to students who would not ordinarily qualify for many existing scholarships. 


Requirements  of prospect Student Recipients include: 

  • Completion of the DPCC Scholarship application 
  • A 2.7 high school GPA, with demonstrated potential for higher education 
  • A class rank in the upper half  of their class, but lower than the top ten percent 
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • An achiever with school and outside activities
  • A U.S. citizen, or a legal  alien  and resident  of Arizona, including DACA status 
  • A desire to attend a community college in Arizona 


Please note that once you submit an application to be considered for this scholarship, all decisions will be in the hands of Desert Palms Church and not Dysart High School. All candidates will be notified of this process by mail.
