Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

Dear Jet Families, 

As we partner together this year, your child’s safety is of utmost importance.  We need your support to ensure our arrival and dismissal procedures run safely, smoothly and efficiently.  We have three arrival and dismissal locations and have outline each below:

Arrival:

Parent Drop Off

Students may be dropped off in the North parking lot beginning at 8:40am.  Please use the driveline for drop off and remain in your vehicle.  As you enter the driveline, please be sure your child has all belongings, pull as far forward as possible and have your child exit the vehicle on the driver’s side.  Your child will enter the main gate to the courtyard where a staff member will welcome them each morning. 

Base Gate

MIlitary Police open the gate at 8:40am.  A staff member will be on the Luke Elementary side of the gate to welcome your child each morning and direct them to the building door by the gym.  

Bus

Staff will meet buses in the South parking lot and welcome your child each morning.  Staff will monitor students as they exit the bus and direct them the door by the gymnasium. 

Dismissal:

Parent Pick Up

Students will sit by grade level under the awning until their vehicle is at a designated cone for pick up.  Upon arrival, if there are already cars waiting, use both lines to wait.  Staff will call approximately 6 cars one side and then switch to the next.  Please have your blue dismissal sign filled out and on your dash before entering the parking lot for pick up.  Please stay alert and move forward, be patient and courteous - staff will work as quickly as possible to safely dismiss students.

Base Gate

• Base Gate Parent Pick Up (car or walk).  Please exit your vehicle, if applicable, and meet your child at the gate, past the orange cones.  Once Luke staff verifies adult picking up, student will be released through the gate.  Adult must be listed as a student contact in Parent/Student portal. 
• Base Gate Walkers: If applicable, students will meet siblings and then leave camps through gate to walk home on Luke AFB. 
•  Youth Center: Students who attend the Youth Center will wait to be picked up front the base gate by Youth Center staff. 

Students will wait with staff in assigned bus hallway for bus to arrive. Staff will walk each bus to corresponding bus before bus departs for route.  Check the route locator here for stops in your neighborhood.

Dismissal Changes:

If you have a dismissal change for your child, contact the front office at 623-876-7300 or email  [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected] by 1:00 pm on Mondays 3:00 pm on Tuesdays - Fridays Students will be release from school following their regular dismissal method if changes are not received at the times indicated above.
