OVERVIEW
Asante Preparatory Academy is so excited to offer a robust Arts program at our school. All students in grades K-4 participate in Music and Art classes as part of their special class rotations. In grades 5-8, students are able to select from a variety of Art and Music class options that include the following for the 22/23 school year. A full list of elective options by grade is found in the Asante enrollment packet.
PROGRAMS OFFERED
Choir
Students in grades 5-8 that participate in choir will focus on learning different types of choral music, sight-reading, correct singing techniques, and performance etiquette. The Asante Choir performs at school and district events and has a large concert once a semester.
Yearbook
This group focuses on helping to preserve our school memories by creating our school yearbook. In Yearbook, middle school students have the opportunity to design, take photographs for, promote, and sell the Asante yearbook.
Band
Students in grades 5-8 that participate in band experience an enriching and diverse instrumental music education by performing music of various genres and time periods. The group will perform concerts during the semester to demonstrate their learning of such music. The band helps to foster and promote music growth through the playing of an instrument by the student, at an appropriate level of difficulty.
Art Club
Art club with a focus on a new medium each week. The club will focus on creating pieces related to the season and curating creative minds by exposing young artists to new creative methods each week!
