OVERVIEW
Building a strong, healthy mind and body includes appreciation for the arts. We believe students should know the fundamentals, while also learning about master artists and musicians, and gaining skills in creating their own art, music, and technology. Our artists have their masterpieces displayed around the school, at the district office, and the annual Dysart Festival of the Arts. Our students also have the opportunity to perform at assemblies, concerts, and the Dysart Festival of the Arts. Students with a deep love for technology are able to show that passion at the Dysart Robotics and STEM Challenge. These experiences offer our students many opportunities to be proud of their hard work and creations.
ARTS OFFERINGS
Art Class
Students learn about master artists, styles, media, as well as the elements of art. Different grade levels get to participate in making art such as weaving, water colors, sculpture, paper folding, drawing, painting, and even turning recyclable materials into art sculptures.
Music Class
Music education provides an opportunity for artistic expression that a student could not experience on his/her own. Music stimulates the creative, curious, and imaginative mind- the mental building blocks for critical thinking and self-motivation. In Dysart, our goal is to provide students with the skills they need to enjoy music for a lifetime. Our general music curriculum is designed to develop a greater understanding and love of music through singing, reading, playing instruments, moving, listening, analyzing, and composing, helping to support the academic success and development of the whole child.
Our Art enrichment is available through our 21st Century grant. The students have an opportunity to enjoy using the skills they have learned in art class! Choir is another enrichment available through our 21st Century grant. Students learn new songs and have fun on Karaoke Mondays. Our choir performs at the Annual Dysart Festival of the arts.
