OVERVIEW

Shadow Ridge High School is HOME to nearly 2,200 students, staff and teachers. It is located near White Tank Mountains in Surprise, AZ and offers students a wide range of academic and extracurricular opportunities. It is through the Academics, Arts, and Athletics that the school knows they are preparing our students for college, career, and life experiences. As a school community, the school strives to be a “Home” to a community of learners which inspires student excellence. With (H)igh Expectations for students, parents, staff and the community, Shadow Ridge is committed to providing limitless (O)pportunities for our students, while creating (M)eaningful Relationships between all members of the school community. Teachers, parents, and students will experience (E)mpowerment via the use of effective communication and 21st Century resources. Through collaboration and networking, students will have the confidence to explore real-world issues that will prepare them to become contributing members in our global society. Furthermore, Shadow Ridge High School has been recognized as an “A” School by the Arizona Department of Education, is listed in US News and World Reports top high schools in Arizona, and is an A+ School of Excellence. .

Shadow Ridge High School serves the communities of the Northwest Valley and is conveniently near the White Tank Mountains off of Perryville Road.

At Shadow Ridge High School students are provided extraordinary experiences in a variety of classrooms that meet their needs and interests. In addition to the general curriculum, Shadow Ridge is home to the district’s award-winning Engineering Career and Technical Education Program with classes including 7/8 Honors and an Engineering Internship.

Explore the Arts

At Shadow Ridge High School the visual and performing arts play a central role. The arts give students the opportunity to nurture their creative sides, develop workplace skills, and utilize opportunities like the AZ State Seal of Arts Proficiency program in order to further their artistic talents. Students also have the opportunity to compete locally and across the country in many of our performing arts programs.
