Site Council

The Canyon Ridge School Site Council is a semi-autonomous body consisting of parents, teachers, administrators and community members. As mandated by the Dysart Unified School District, the purpose of Site Council is to manage the collection and distribution of public tax expenditure funds donated to the campus. Our by-laws dictate that donated funds be utilized for extra-curricular activities; unless otherwise specified by those making the contribution. The council may also examine school related policies and offer recommendations.

The distribution of tax expenditures is governed by an application process. All requests are examined by the council on a monthly basis and majority vote will decide each pending issue. During the 2022-2023 academic year, the Site Council will focus its efforts on in-person and/or virtual extra-curricular activities, annual campus events, and all athletics funding. Ongoing fundraising, via community and staff tax credit donations, will play a prominent role.

All current council members were chosen to serve based on a nomination and annual election process. The members of the Canyon Ridge Site Council are:

  • Ann Mitchell (community member)
  • Evelin Vera Loera (teacher)
  • Jill Hoppe (principal)
  • Andrew Griesel (assistant principal)
  • Tracy Oglesby (teacher)

The Site Council will meet in-person, or remotely, at 4:00 pm on campus. The dates and times are listed below.

  • August 28, 2023
  • September 18, 2023
  • January 29, 2024

Volunteer

Our school community is excited to integrate community members into our schools and programs.  Community members looking to get involved and make a difference in the lives of children and their families can volunteer in many ways for our school, offering valuable support to educators!  Learn more at www.dysart.org/volunteer

Tax Credit

You can support Canyon Ridge School and receive a dollar-for-dollar state tax credit.  Choose one of the four categories and a school to support, and 100% of your donation goes to the category and school of your choice.  Arizona Law (ARS 43-1089.01) allows married couples filing jointly a tax credit of up to $400 and individual taxpayers a tax credit of up to $200 when they contribute to extra-curricular activities in public schools. This tax credit is available to all who reside in Arizona and have a tax liability at least equal to that of their donation.  You do not have to be a parent of a child in our school to benefit from this law. Contributions are donated directly to the school.  This means your donations are used directly to support student activities here at Canyon Ridge.

Mail your check with the Tax Credit Program form to:
