21st Century Community Learning Centers

"Students in quality after school programs have better academic performance, behavior, school attendance and greater expectations for the future." (U.S. Department of Education and Justice, 2000)

Purpose of 21st CCLC Grants

In Arizona, 21st CCLC programs build and sustain comprehensive out-of-school-time programs that provide high-quality academic enrichment opportunities for students attending high-poverty, low-performing schools. These programs meaningfully engage adult family members in helping their children succeed academically. The 21st CCLC programs are funded for five years and are awarded through a competitive process.
