National Board Certification - SRHS Nurse, Kristin Smith

Shadow Ridge High School would like to recognize Nurse Kristin Smith on earning their National Board Certification. National certifications are the highest and most rigorous credentials earned for various professions across the U.S.

We took a moment to sit with Nurse Smith to learn more about her background and her time here at Shadow Ridge:

Kristin Smith is a dedicated nurse who has made a significant impact on the lives of Students at Shadow Ridge High School. After spending 25 years in the mortgage industry, Kristin decided to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. Growing up, she had a natural inclination towards helping others, and this desire only grew stronger over the years. Kristin’s unwavering dedication to the well-being of others led her to pursue a career in nursing, a dream that had been with her since 1st grade. Kristin’s education journey led her to Grand Canyon University, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Armed with her degree and determination to make a difference, she became a medical-surgical and orthopedics nurse where she spent her time for three years prior to joining the Dysart Unified School District. 

Throughout her career, Kristin has displayed an unwavering commitment to the well-being of others. Her transition to working as a nurse at Shadow Ridge High School has allowed her to channel her passion for helping others into educating and supporting students on their journey to good health and wellness. In addition to her professional achievements, Kristin is a devoted mother to four children and two step-children. Her nurturing spirit extends beyond her professional life as she eagerly awaits the arrival of her 17th grandchild in April. Family has always been at the heart of Kristin’s life, and she cherishes the moments spent with her loved ones. When she’s not busy caring for others, Kristin indulges in her favorite hobby of sewing!
