OVERVIEW
Sonoran Heights Middle School places a strong emphasis on student athletics, understanding the importance of students participating in outside activities to enhance the learning experience. Dysart athletics participate in inter-district league play as well as playoff competition out of district. Sonoran Heights continues to have top tier athletic programs, with current championships in Boys Basketball and Boys Baseball.
Sonoran Heights is part of the Northwest Valley Athletic Conference (NWVAC). NWVAC is comprised of four K-8 and four middle schools from Dysart Unified School District. The top two teams from each region will compete in the Northwest Valley Athletic Conference Tournament of Champions against the top teams from Peoria and Deer Valley Unified School Districts.

Cheer consists of two seasons for each division and a final All District Cheer Competition at the end of the school year. All cheer teams will cheer for their home team at basketball games and flag football games during the winter and spring seasons. The All District Cheer Competition is mandatory for all schools and is hosted by a high school Varsity Cheer Team.
